Is the unit strong enough to hold gallon jugs of laundry soap?

It depends on the dimensions of your laundry soap. This product is 12-1/4" wide x 7-1/4" deep. Also, it only weighs a little more than five pounds, so be sure to store on the bottom if it ends up working. Hope that helps!
