Modern Mix-Up In Vintage BathroomWe recently bought a 1964 ranch style house and have been remodeling for months, attempting to retain most of the original parts of the home. The bathroom is nearly done and I have been looking at Lucite and acrylic accessories to add a touch of mid-century modern to the same-era house. Found them at the Container store! Love this item - simple, clean and unique. I purchased two canister and a soap dispenser to coordinate as well.

A home for my cotton balls!Finally I have a pretty container to hold my cotton balls! I was trying to find a container that would "capture" a large supply of cotton balls but allow them to be grabbed one at a time. I hated digging into the big plastic bag they came in... Although this box was meant to hold tissue, it is perfect for my cotton balls and looks pretty at the same time.

This is a very unique accessory for my desk. So far the tissues have stayed organized in the container, but towards the end they'll fall back through the hole rather than standing up because regular tissue boxes have extra plastic around the hole to help them stand. Not an issue for me, but just something I've experienced. The plastic is thick, sturdy and entirely clear (no greenish or blueish reflections); it is definitely worth the price.

Love love love this item!!So happy I got this tissue box - now my tissues always match my office! It's easy to fill (you just lift the lid) and dispenses one tissue at a time perfectly.

Other usesI use this for cottonballs, it's a great look, displayed in my bathroom.
How hard is it to take off the lid without breaking or cracking the box? Is it just screwed on? Pictures don't show the "hinge."

The lid is hinged on one side and lifts easily, it does not remove completely.

When you pull a tissue, does the top pop up and come up with the tissue you are pulling?

Yes when pulling with force. They really should add a lock lid or something but I just put a rubberband or prettty ribbon and problem solved.

What grade acrylic is used jn this box? It appears to be very thin.

No way is this thin in fact I was surprised at the thickness when I opened it. I was quite excited when I took it out of the package actually! Heavy enough to last. Not familiar with official "grades" of acrylic unfortunately. You will love this trust me.
