I purchased this 3-bin laundry sorter because of its capability to be folded which saves on space. I found it easy to assemble - just had to take it out of the box and attach the bag. Wheels were already on it. The drawback for me is that it is just one bag which makes it a little less flexible for getting clothes in and out of wash/dryer or if you want to just deal with one group of sorted clothing.

Wheels are locked upOne of the reasons I purchased this product instead of one of the other many, many equal products I found on the internet, was because of the description of how easily the wheels rotated and glided...the video looked amazing.
Now that I finally have it home (after a 1-1/2 hour drive to the nearest Container Store) and put it together myself (not recommended if you have older hands like I do)...I find that 3 of the 4 wheels are locking and don't rotate at all! I have to basically drag the entire unit across the floor...it's not rolling. Because of this, it doesn't navigate around corners or into spaces well...you pretty much have to carry it.
To return it, I'd have to make another 1-1/2 hour trip, then make sure they unpack it, put it together for me, and make sure it's working before I leave.
It also seemed pretty sturdy in the video, but now that I have it, it's shaky and seems less well-made than I had expected.

Great Product!!!LOVE this sorter! It's heavy duty, easy to move around to clean under, is foldable, washable & holds a lot of clothes. I use it to divide my whites, darks & delicates and I never run out of space. So worth the $$ and makes laundry room so much easier to keep clean!!

Exactly What I Was Looking ForMoving into a new apartment, with not a lot of space for laundry, I knew I needed not only a hamper but a space to sort clothes as well. Looking into sorters, this was the only one that had three large compartments and looked sleek and professional. It saves me time and space when doing laundry, and even rolls so that I can easily move the whole sorter from the bathroom to the laundry area with ease. The only thing that would make it better was if the 3 compartments were separate.

Not this oneOK, so the frame is sturdy. That much is true. But the system used to keep the bags attached to the frame is flimsy and if you get too much laundry in the bags, they collapse off the frame. Secondly, you might notice that the three bins are sewn to form one bag divided into three. One doesn't realize how awkward that is until you have filled up one bin and are ready to put it in the laundry. Other sorters have separate bags so when one fills up, you pull it alone and the rest stay on the sorter. And what happens when you have one of the divisions full and the others nearly empty? It becomes unwieldy. Not this one.

Have been looking for a replacement sorter bag for years! The bag is an improvement of previous bags that came with the sorter. It so practically made -- easy to attach and wash.

Snaps don't support weight of one avg loadI love the size of this bin and the portability of it so I was disappointed when one of the snaps ripped off. It is an expensive item that only lasted 8 months. My previous 3-Bin laundry sorter had lasted 19 years.

Sturdy and SimpleI hemmed and hawed about this purchase due to some of the negative reviews. But then I figured, well, it's the Container Store, if I hate it, I can return it. But I love this sorter. It's brought order to my chaotic laundry area. I have two young kids and a hubby - none of whom are gentle with just about everything, and we've never had a problem with this guy. No problems with the snaps either - even when we squish the clothing down to make more room. Would repurchase, but I don't know that we'll ever need to!

Much Better than ExpectedThis Laundry sorter is larger than I imagined, which is a good thing. Also find it to be commercial/industrial quality in its construction. Very easy to put together and well designed. The hanging bag is very thick and high quality. The wheels are heavy duty as well. Great piece of laundry equipment. You won't be disappointed. I researched this category extensively before choosing this sorter. You can take my word for it, or do your own research to reach the conclusion that this unit is the best choice!

This laundry sorter made laundry so much easier!!!This heavy duty laundry sorter def meets all my standards!!! I've purchase so many types of laundry baskets but they never worked for me because I have all sort of laundry I have to wash (work, towels, etc) and having multiple baskets took up too much space. I was at the container store when I saw this laundry sorter and I knew I had to buy it!! I have tons of laundry and trust me this thing is very heavy duty!! I also love how I can put all my clothes in this sorter versus having a lot of baskets. It was worth every penny!!! Def 5 stars for me!!

Weak snapsThe frame is very sturdy but the snaps unsnap with very little volume or weight in the 3 compartments. Good news is they don't rip out, they just always have to be re-snapped.
The weak snaps are a flaw that completely offsets the benefits of the large organizer. I'd take the BOTH back (yes, I ordered 2) if I lived closer.

Poorly Designed Laundry Sorter - Beware of SnapsI should have read previous reviews of this product before purchasing. The chrome-plated frame was easy to put together and it appears quite sturdy. The wheels make it convenient and easy to move. The laundry sorter bag appears to be sturdy although I can't tell because whenever we put clothes into the bins, two snaps come undone and the compartment falls. When you pull to snap one side, the other side unsnaps. Quite frustrating and I would not recommend this product - it shouldn't break with each use. Save your money! I rated this product 2 stars because the product does not function as it should - we only have 2 functioning compartments.

Awesome ItemI want to give this item 4.5 stars....but that isn't an option. I love this. The wheels are so smooth, it moves from carpet to hard wood like it's on ice. The sorter pockets are a generous size, for 2-people. If you have a large family, I can see how this wouldn't hold everything.
It is not complicated to put together, but this is where the 1/2 star comes off. I have the very early stages of arthritis....my hands feel like I 'just woke up' all day long. There is a cross bar that attaches to legs of the bin. You have to push in a button on the legs, slide the cross bar over it, until a hole in bar matches up with the depressed button. It was nearly an impossible task for me. Anyone who has more advanced arthritis, or carpel tunnel, or any type of hand weakness will NOT be able to put this together. But, the rest of assembly was easy.
The other item I have seen mentioned is the end snaps pop open when the sorters are full. This is easily remedied by filling the center sorter with the heaviest items (towels, blankets, denim clothing, etc). It is a matter of physics. You need to put lighter weighing clothes on the outside bins, and the heaviest in the middle. The snaps will NOT come open.

glad I purchased two sortersEasy to assemble but like another reviewer stated- the snap on the end keeps coming undone. I haven't found an answer to this problem but could use some suggestions. I love the bins just not the end snap.

Really Great Cart!I've never been disappointed with anything from the Container Store, and this cart is no exception. Very sturdy, good casters, heavy-duty basket. Carries a lot of wash to the machine without lugging a heavy basket. it's so much nicer than other carts I have seen.

HandyWe have had the one with the velcro across that top that holds it to the frame for a year and a half. We have not really had any issues with the velcro yet. However, one of the dividers seams separated. (Was able to repair/reinforce this on my sewing machine fairly easily.) There is a replacement hamper for a reasonable price. Each section holds about two loads of laundry each for us (six total). We have an extra large capacity HE washer. It is perfect for our family of five but we do a couple loads a day.

All the parts are great - overall, ick.The frame on this things is solid - the bag, stitching, compartments are top notch. Why an ICK you ask? I can't keep the darn bag attached to the frame! I'm not sure if I'm working the wrong voodoo spell, but I've even pulled out the pliers to try and crimp the snaps together! IT WILL NOT STAY HOOKED! If you put more then one small, lightweight item in each of the 3 bins, that's it! It's going to come undone!! I wish I could figure out how to get this to stay attached so I could use it, but for now, it's just taking up space in my laundry room.

Replacement Liner Not As ShownMy rating is for the replacement liner, not the sorter itself.
I've owned the 3-bin sorter for a couple of years. My sorter looks like the picture - the liner is sewn around the metal bar, allowing for a sturdier delivery when clothes begin to pile up inside.
The metal sorter is built with a frame that is easy to take apart, slide off the liner and replace it. The liner has begun to shred over time, so I ordered the replacement liner.
The "new, improved" version is a snap and tab system that breaks apart whenever you fill the bin. Also, the end tabs slide down the side of the frame. I am so disappointed.
The older liner lasted a couple of years. This one hasn't lasted a week. Why did they have to change something that was working well?
The sorter frame still looks and performs like new. Please bring back the old liner!

just as bad as the originalI bought this to replace the original sorter bag which was held on the cart with velcro. This sorter sits in the basement underneath the laundry chute. Whenever anything with a little weight was thrown down (like a towel for instance) the velcro would separate and fall off the cart. I had to use safety pins to keep it on - which didn't work particulary well. I thought this one with the heavy duty snaps would hold up better. I was wrong. The snaps open just as quickly and easily as the velcro did. I'm back to using safety pins. For 70 bucks (the original price of the entire unit, and 20 more for the replacement bag) I would expect a better product.

Heavy-Duty Sorter really isn'tI don't write many reviews but after my experience with this rolling hamper/clothes sorter I thought I'd post my experience.
Assembly was very simple and was completed in just a couple minutes. The metal frame and wheels are sturdy and well made.
That's why I was surprised when I attached the cloth sorting bin to the frame. I think the bins are generously sized, but the thin velcro used to loop around the frame to attach the sorting bin doesn't hold up.
I've had the sorter for a couple months and I simply cannot keep the cloth sorter attached to the frame.
What are the dimensions? Is it available at the Edina,MN,store?

Are the wheels and frame sturdy?
I live in an apartment building and want to wheel this down the hall to our communal laundry room. Is it sturdy and solid enough to take a lot of movement?

I feel differently from most, I guess. The wheels on mine lock up and don't navigate well. That causes me to have to pick it up to navigate. It doesn't easily roll into corners or where I want it to go without doing that.
The entire unit feels a little shaky.
