Can damp clothes be hung on these without finish transfer?

There is not finish on our Basic Lotus Wooden Hangers – they are a raw wood. Nothing should transfer. That being said, we wouldn’t recommend hanging something soaking wet on them.

Is this a completely VOC free hanger?
1- Is there ANY VOC in the finish? 2- are there any chemicals in the black finish hardware? 3- is the Lotus wood untreated (chemical free?)

There is not finish on our Basic Lotus Wooden Hangers – they are a raw wood. The metal hooks are painted with a black epoxy paint.

Basic Lotus Wooden Hangers
One of the reviews mentioned a smell with these hangers? Has anyone else noticed this? I live quite a distance from a store and don't want to purchase as I need a lot and then have to return them.
