I love that it keeps my sponges out of the bottom of the sink and off the counter. They can drip dry and last longer with this handy device.

perfect with the in sink dish draineruse it to hold my soap dispensing brush from here and the brush seems a little bit too heavy. it slips down the sink daily. i feel like it would be perfect for sponges though. I still use it even I though I have to pull it up periodically. I do not regret purchasing it though.

Design FlawHaving seen this concept on a recent stay in a holiday house I was excited to get the strainer. It looks good and sticks well, however the metal scratches the surface of the sink, as it's weight rests against the porcelain.

Do the suction cups (and I will use the Container Store's suggestion to add a dab of petroleum jelly to improve the suction), keep the stainless steel basket slightly away from the sink wall? Or if it does slide, does the stainless steel basket make contact with the sink wall and s-c-r-a-t-c-h it as it slips down?

Yes, the suction cups separate the basket from the wall of the sink.

How deep is this? (There are dimensions for height and width but not for how far it protrudes).

This product will stick out 2 1/2" when applied using the suction cups.
