Strange IssueAfter each season of use and once cake has been at least 90% depleted I have found black, indiscernible somethings stuck in the bottom and on the lower sides of plastic hanging part. whatever it is is extremely sticky and nearly impossible to wash off. I've asked many people including the manufacturer but no one can tell me what it is. I'm guessing that no one has ever looked inside because they're not reusable.

Effective but smellyThese seems to work well - I haven't seen a moth since we put them in the closets, but there is still that unmistakable moth ball smell. Perhaps less pungent than traditional moth products but it's still pretty strong. I put that I would recommend this product only because I haven't found any "natural" or pleasant smelling products (cedar, lavendar, etc) that actually work.
In order to use this product, you will need to remove the cellophane that is wrapped around the cake but, you should not touch it with your bare hands! They say to use the cellophane to handle while putting it in the white plastic holder.

What about silverfish ?
Will these deal with silverfish larvae ? Moth and carpet beetle larvae are the "little devils" which feed on clothing and other items and not the adults you see milling about. . Of course, the adults are laying the eggs..but will these cakes destroy silverfish and their brood, too ? With regard to toxicity, humans & pets, is the CA toxin warning ,listed on every other moth preventative, listed on this product, as well ? Thanks !

The active ingredient of our Linen-Scented No-Moth Hanger is para-Dichlorobenzene which is an effective insecticide for all stages of an insect’s life, including silverfish. Our Linen-Scented No-Moth Hanger does come with the state of California warning.

Not to be used in plastic bags ?
does anyone know why ? I use them in the Peeve hanging suit bags (dress , coat&gown too) and in the airtight/watertight totes. I am too scared to take any more chances with the silverfish, gnats & carpet beetles that have taken over my 4 story townhouse .

Hello ,
It is ok to use garment bags made specially for storing clothing. Trash bags and dry cleaning bags and are not recommended because the air will not circulate properly as the clothes almost cling to those types of bags. The linen moth bar is ideal for use in garment bags.

Is this safe for small children and infants to be around? I have a walk in closet that my kids wander into.

Our No-Moth products can be used around children and pets, however, it is harmful ingested, and exposure to the vapors may cause temporary irritation to the eyes and/or skin.
