Not a good choice for mens shoes.Bought many of these to work with our many different kinds of shoes. Would scuff the toes of my dress shoes, and sneakers looked sloppy as you had to dress the laces. It did not allow you to easily see the shoes in the back or adequately access them. Despite having spent hundreds, I scrapped them and went to the wood shelves and it looks much better and works quite well.

1st of all I Love Elfa...First thing I do whenever I move... is install Elfa.
The beautiful thing is that you can take it with you when you move. This time I was revamping a too small closet and this freed up a lot of space on the floor for me.
Good for Women’s shoes. Not so great for Men’s

Love them but ...I love these they are awesome but the 18 inch only holds 2 pairs of shoes - ok 2 and 1 shoe of a 3rd pair .. I was expecting it to hold 3 pairs. Other than that they are phenomenal! Super easy to install and change around like all the container store products!!

Gliding shoe racksThese are the best things since sliced bread. The shoes are organized, easy to get to and the shoes don't take up closet floor space.
The gliders were part of a entire closet remake and I could not be happier, Everything is organized and I have space that I didn't even know was possible. Thank you Sylvie and the container store, They drew up the plans, we modified them together and I have the perfect closet. The installer was amazing, knowledgable and cleaned up everything when he was done. The Reston Virginia store has its' act together and really knows how to treat customers. They are 10 stars in my book.
The description says holds 4-6 pairs of flats - is it not recommended for high heels?

You can use it for high heels, you just have to make sure you have enough height between the shelves. I was close on space and have to have the heels hang off the back of the shelves. Best solution for flats, rods work best for heels, but this will certainly work for heels too.

Yes, we didn't realize that you needed the brackets and had to order them separately. We previously had the rods for the shoes which do not require the brackets.

Does the gliding mesh shoe shelf work with wall mounted standards?

Yes, you need the standards. We to do a little adjustment because ours were a little close together, but we removed the upper shelves, moved the standard over a 1/2" and they worked perfectly.

Depending on the size of the tennis shoes, roughly 8-9 inches of verticle space would be needed for two gliding shoe shelves plus shoes
