Favorite containersI use these containers for my old fashioned oats. The seal is pretty secure. I cut the cooking instructions out and used double sided sick tape to hold into the top of the lid. They give a organized look in my pantry with the other containers I have with things.

I ordered a bunch of these containers in different sizes to organize our office snacks. They are mostly great. Heavy duty glass with good seals. The one thing I am not 100% satisfied with is that some of the bottoms are not square, which makes the canisters a little wobbly.

Ants!These are fantastic but warn you, they are NOT airtight. I live in the mountains and ants are a constant pest in the summertime. They will not stay out if they want something in there :-)

DisappointedI had a couple of these that I purchased a while back but hadn't used. After noting that I tended to forget to make use of crackers, etc. that I had opened and stored in the cupboard (outa sight, outa mind), I decided to purchase some more and use them for snacks and such with these attractive containers sitting out on a counter. In general a great idea, but unfortunately I discovered during a muggy Chicago summer that they are not as airtight as described and that crackers did get stale (losing a bit of crunch). As I had purchased the first ones over a year ago and the additional ones several months before I noted the problem, and then didn't act on it immediately, I assume that it is so late to attempt to return for something that did prove to be truly airtight. Bummer. Figure that they will be fine when humidity isn't a factor, but still disappointed that they weren't as promoted and also at myself for not being on the ball enough to discover in time to exchange. Still, they do look good! LOL

you'll be glad you got these !!These canisters are thick & well made-pretty and take up less room,making for a neater cabinet-I ordered 12 of the 2 largest sizes( I have plenty of the 2 smaller sizes that I saved from all my circle e candles-circle e uses the exact same canisters from anchor hocking) I put adhesive chalkboard labels on them, used a sharpie permanent white paint pen ( comes off with alcohol ) VERY PLEASED...ordering these here is cheaper than ordering from anchor hocking because they don't have free shipping !

Utilitarian, but not perfectI only use these for grain (wheat, oat groats, etc) and other dry goods where excluding macro pests (mostly insects) is the main goal. The fit is not quite air-tight. Their selling point to me is their stack ability. Pretty much all other glass storage is non-stackable and thus not very space-efficient.

Best purchase everThese containers are the best for keeping pasta, sugar, coffee fresh and dry. We live by the water and sometimes products get damp. I liked them so much I purchased many for my son and daughter who live in apartments, and the kitchen counter space is limited. The fact that they stack makes them ideal. Thank you, Container Store.

Terrible CanistersThese canisters are terrible! I was looking for a glass canister system that wood look nice in my kitchen to store rice, flour, etc. The lids are so loose, there's no way that they will keep anything fresh, and you can;t pick the canister up by the lid even when it's empty! I returned these, which was a hassle. I would not recommend these to ANYONE!

Classic canistersI have three sizes of these and keep my flour, granola, and sugar handy with them. Love the design and think they look classic and lovely on my counter. My only critique of them: the lid. It is definitely tight enough to keep contents fresh, but if you go to pick one up or move it and you do so by grabbing the top, it will come off suddenly. I was in a hurry one morning and spilled granola all over the place. Learned my lesson and now pick them up from middle. Sounds silly, but just an observation.

Best Storage CanistersI have purchased several sizes of these square glass canisters. They make storage an easy task. These canisters are made of glass which is healthy as glass does not leach chemicals into your food like plastic. The lids have a nice seal around them to provide a air tight seal when storing food. I will continue to buy pieces to add to my collection and most importantly these products are made in the USA.

Great Product Made OutstandingA long time ago I purchased these square glass containers and loved them. Found a newer version that is stackable and went with it.
The original is great. The glass is strong and you can always see inside. They are square, taking up less counter space. And now they are stackable too! The base underneath and the lid on top have a raised edge all the way around. My older cannisters without this stack perfectly fine on top of new ones.
The people who complain that you can't lift them by their lids have an unreasonable expectation and truly need a different product.
Anchor-Hocking took a great product and made it even better! 5 STARS and don't change a thing!

Beautiful StorageThese Anchor-Hocking square glass storage containers are heavy-duty, air-tight, but also sleek and up-to-date with their square shape and clear sides. They hold a lot and fit nicely on shelves. Food is easy to keep track of. The lid will slip off the jar if you pick them up by the lid, though.

Form and functionThese canisters add an architectural element to my kitchen counter. They take up less actual space than my previous glass canisters, and because they are transparent and uniformly shaped, they also create visual space. "once upon a time"I remember my mother storing leftovers et al in glass. Often, the "old fashioned" way is best since new techologies and materials may present all sorts of dangers. I'm so glad that glass storage is once again readily available at reasonable prices.

Great OrganizerThese have been so helpful to organize my baking/spice cabinet! No more bags of things falling over! The only issue is y 1 cup measure doesn't fit inside so I have to pour into the cup which I usually make a bit of a mess.
I plan to buy it to freeze non liquid food (bread ...etc). What is the minimal temperature for this glass ?

I’m sure you could put them in the freezer but I’m not sure you would want to. The seal isant that great where air may get into them and if it was a liquid it may seap through the seal if it was on its side.

No. The jars are all separately sealed. They don’t interlock.

What is the capacity of each size?
How much to they hold in cups or in pounds? Can I get a 4-pound bag of sugar into one?

There are 8 fluid ounces to a cup, so each canister has the following volume:
32 oz. = 4 cups
54 oz. = 6.75 cups
64 oz. = 8 cups
80 oz. = 10 cups
To store 4 lbs. of sugar, we'd recommend the 64 oz. canister.

Once the lids are removed, what are the dimensions of the container openings?
In the picture, it appears as though the top part of the canister narrows a bit just below the lid. I'm wondering what the narrowest part of the opening is on each of the containers?
