Storing Family HeirloomsI have a collection of fine clothing and linens passed down through my family. I have been afraid to store them in anything plastic that won’t breathe, so I was glad to find a paper box that is acid free. It took me two tries to assemble the box, but after I got it the other boxes and lids were easy to fold together. They are very pretty and come with nice sheets of tissue. As a plus, the cedar drawer liners sold at The Container Store fit in them.

Love These TissuesI have several uses for these tissues. Because they are acid free I can use them for wrapping up family heirlooms such as my kids’ baptismal clothes, or grandma’s hand sewn quilt, and not worry about discoloration or deterioration. My favorite use is to crumple the tissue to put in my handbags when I store them. This keeps the bags from folding in on themselves and creasing.

Not just for clothingThis was the perfect size for old scrapbooks and clipping materials. I had a rotting cardboard box stuffed with photo albums and decaying photos, newspaper clippings, and documents from my husband's grandmother that needed to be stabilized and stored ASAP. The standard document sized archival boxes weren't quite large enough, and two of these did the trick. I used the provided tissue paper to insulate the awkward shaped items from shifting.

Impromptu Hat boxI bought myself a custom made belero hat and needed a hat box. The regular study ones are too small and the other hat boxes are very flimsy. I needed something to protect the shape and keep dust off of my belero.

Good size, good qualityMy wife had to fold her wedding dress slightly to fit it in the box, but it wasn't tightly packed by any means. It's only been stored for a couple of weeks, so no idea how well preserved it will be in the long run, but the sales person at the store assured me that this type of box/paper is what all the museum quality storage places use...so we're hoping for the best.

good for wedding dress storageMy daughters wedding dress and cathedral veil fit well in the box. I did buy extra tissue but may not have needed but felt more the better? Easy to assemble. Fits under the bed just fine. Can't tell you if it prevents yellowing or not but I thought worth the try. Had a owner of a wedding dress consignment shop tell me not to buy the 250$ preservation kit from cleaners, said about 50% of dresses that come in one of those is yellow. This is a much cheaper option. Did have the dress professionally cleaned first. Would give 5 stars if I knew for sure no yellowing.

Great solution! My wedding dress had been stored in a HUGE box that didn't fit anywhere. Because it was not a big, poufy ballgown style, it fit beautifully in this size box. The box was easy to assemble and included plenty of acid-free tissue. I am happy that my dress is protected, and that I am able to store it in a box a quarter the size of the drycleaner's box. VERY pleased with this purchase!

a huge necessityI bought this box to correctly store a very fragile set of quilting pieces that date back to the 1870's! I KNEW the best place to find it would be the Container Store! They always have everything I need!. In addition I bought a smaller box and the acid free paper to store a very special ring pillow that I'm creating for a bridge. It will be a new treasure, and stored correctly from its beginning!

Great Size Box...Larger box than I thot, but can put some other items in . Can't tell you about how box/tissue preserves...as haven't had it long enough. This is a wonderful item to preserve things that can't be washed/dry cleaned.. At least it makes me feel like I'm doing something good w/my Grandmother's dancing gown (circa 1920's)

Wise purchaseAfter 50 years, I decided I should have something in which to store my wedding dress - not my cedar chest! I ordered this box, which came just before Christmas (a surprise). I also ordered the extra acid-free paper which was recommended in the product description, but probably wouldn't have needed it. A good purchase -- and it does fit under the bed.

Great ProductPurchased this product to store some family heirlooms. Having worked in the museum industry, I was looking for something that would be safe for textiles as well as paper products. These boxes have ample room to nicely and securely, but not too tightly wrap and protect my items.
Note - the boxes that I bought come with acid free tissue paper which I was not aware of. Check to see if there is tissue included in the box you are buying before buying the separate package of acid-free tissue. The good thing about the extra tissue package is that the sheets of paper are HUGE!

Great for Kimono StorageI had such a difficult time finding a good acid-free box that was the right size for storing my antique kimono, and I'm so glad that I eventually found this one! It's just the right size! The box is also high quality and very sturdy, and the tissue paper it comes with is perfect for wrapping the kimono to keep the colors from bleeding. I will definitely be ordering more of these in the future!

Is the Acid-Free Tissue (30" x 40") that's sold as a separate item (20 pkg) buffered or unbuffered?
The Acid-Free Tissue doesn't have it's own product page, and is only found accompanying this garment box. I'm inquiring about the extra package of tissue which is not included with the garment box. Please, is it buffered or unbuffered? Is it lignin-free? Thank you.
Asked by: justanotherconsumer
the extra package of tissue sold should have it's own product page. If not, check with the store itself.

I'm looking to store my children's larger art projects in this archival box for it's size.
Your smaller photo archive box won't hold the larger projects. If this Under Bed Garment Storage Box isn't appropriate is there anything else you could suggest?
Asked by: TeamTrent
This box is long enough to hold formal dresses folded at the waist to fit. There would be plenty of room for many art projects as long at they are flat pieces. If you need something smaller there is a smaller garment storage box that might due.

Is it advisable to only put one garment in each box?
Or is it alright to put a few garments in one box it?
Asked by: Amy3333
I put several garments in one box, but used the tissue included to wrap them individually. Also, I tried not to overstuff since the lid does not lock.
