Perfect to organizeI bought two of the narrow 7 frames for desk drawers. They are perfect in my office. I added casters and melamine tops so they could be rolled around as extra desk top space when needed. Now I have a space for my printer to sit so it's not taking up precious desktop space.

Modest dutyThese are pretty nice, but modest duty. Good for home office or bedroom or light use kitchen. Not appropriate for commercial office, vigorous use kitchen, certainly not for garage.
Casters not sutable to bump over transforms. If you wheel them around all the time, the corner right angle solid pieces holding the verticals will fatigue crack - they are die cast, not forged or steel cast.
But, good enough for lighter duty. After this you need to go to wire frame systems.

Excellent purchaseI bought this elfa shelf to put in a coat closet in order to convert it to a pantry; our new kitchen didn't have enough cabinet space. This is perfect. I put it together in about 10 minutes with just the soft handle of a hammer. It's well made and sturdy.

Drawer FramesI have so many of these I'm embarrassed to say! I've used to accommodate picture albums, sewing supplies, craft supplies, cleaning supplies, loose plumbing and electrical supplies in the tool room. Wonder what my next drawer solution will be!

love thisi bought this as a replace for a dresser that would fit in my closet. i absolutely love it. not too difficult to put together,and is completely stable. my clothing fits perfectly in it. i ordered the 22 inch wide one with the mesh drawers at 57inch height. that gave me around 11 drawers (using the customize program to fit my needs) and the mesh allows my clothes to breathe.

Happy accidentI accidentally ordered the platinum elfa drawer unit and was surprised to see how nice it looks "in person". This would look good for use in any area! As always, I love the amazing amount of storage in the elfa pieces. Can't imagine any other way to have such a well-organized craft area.

Very VersatileThis unit is perfect for my craft room. The baskets that fit in it allow me to use deep baskets (3 rungs), medium baskets (2 rungs), or small baskets (1 rung). I have 1 deep 2 medium and 3 small mesh baskets in mine. It is very solid also. Love it.

THE BEST ORGANIZATION PRODUCT YOU WILL EVER BUY!My AFTER photo of my daughters playroom!
16 units (two missing tops due to I was overly excited to take photo before finishing!) + desk set. There's even 6 more units behind where I was standing. These are AMAZING! So many ways to set them up, heights, draw sizes, colors, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! SO EASY TO ASSEMBLE my 8 year old did most of the work with my help! Started with 4 just to give you an idea. BEST MONEY EVER SPENT!! I mean, seriously, how much would you pay to have your PLAYROOM this neat all the time!!!
**TIP**: I wanted a seamless flow around the corners of the room so the 2 corner pieces I use an "trunk" type storage as being "corners" there is technically no way to access drawers. What I did is use the deepest drawer to fill from above with toys. Then, instead of using the permanent tape to hold down the top, use two sided 3M velcro so you can pull the top off as needed to access the toys within! I have these all around my home and have done 3 Elfa closets top to bottom so far!! Doing my daughters bedroom over this year, ripping out the closet and doing ALL ELFA!!! It's so addicting!! For those people who have to CONSTANTLY change the look in their homes (as I do!) this is a GREAT product! As a matter of fact, I'm in the process of changing this entire system around now to create a large LEGO city play area...can't wait to upload my photos when it's complete!!

Craft and laundry roomI would like to share my Elfa System that I put in my laundry room. I couldn't wait to put this in after I moved in and I am so organized thanks to the great products from Container store. My laundry room is about 8'by10' and I have great storage for all my crafts. Very happy, easy to put together.Very happy with the purchase. Maybe a bit more pricey than I would like, but the ease of putting it together and how it looks was well received by the daughter.
Took maybe all of 10 minutes.
See through mesh is nice to know exactly what is in each drawers.
Could be a little flimsy if someone decides to climb on top of it. If it was a bit sturdier, it would be perfect for all kids. For my daughter, I don't have any concerns.

Good price for easy storage.The unit has survived several moves without any problems. However, the design of the bins leaves something to be desired. The pegs in the back of the unit that prevent the drawers from sliding too far back always pop out. For the price, it's a great deal if you're looking for some simple storage pieces.

Great if you need to be able to get at wall behindBought this for my laundry room because the dryer hose snakes across wall and I couldn't use other shelving there. I put the drawer unit on casters and whenever I need to clean out the vent or reach behind the washer to turn off the water, I just roll this out of the way. Also, I can remove it to access shelving above it with a ladder (see my picture#.
Because of the multiple widths available, I was able to maximize the use of space to fit it perfectly.
ONE TIP: You need to install the white drawer stopper pins in the top runner BEFORE you assemble the top cross pieces. Otherwise, you're going to have a tough time getting them off to install them. #I've done this twice!!)

The cart that changed my life!My knitting improved by creating a work area on wheels, using an Elfa cart that has 3 drawers and a wooden top. The top drawer holds small tools and needles, the middle, some yarn for quick knit-ups and the large bottom basket/drawer holds books and larger tools like the wool winder, when not in use. The top of the cart is big enough to hold my pattern, yarn, small tools and a cup of coffee or tea. It's on wheels, so it rolls out of the way, under tables or behind couches, as needed.

Flawless DesignI've used these Elfa drawer frames everywhere...in my closet, my pantry and now, my kids art closet. I've tried cheaper styles and they inevitably don't hold drawers full of items and bend, bow and give way to the weight. It's so frustrating to have spent all kinds of money on the next best to Elfa when I should have just bought Elfa to begin with. These will be my go-to for drawers of any kind from here on out.

Can these units be stacked to create taller cabinets?

Yes. The bottom crossbars have the same metal going up into the rails as going down as feet. You can stack two units together by removing one set of top crossbars and replacing them with the bottom crossbar of the other set so that they lock together. Adding a 4-rail unit to a 7-rail unit or something along those lines is fine but I don't recommend going too high because then it will be top-heavy and a little tipsy.

Can you cut the frame to make the 10 frame to a 9 frame?

Theoretically you could cut it. ... but the feet or the top wouldn't be correct or stable. I wouldn't cut them.

Is this completely free standing?
Do you need to anchor in anyway, such as using the Elfa tracking? Is it heavy enough to not move around as you open drawers?

All elfa drawer frames are compatible with elfa wire and mesh drawers of the same size -- X-Narrow, Narrow, Medium, Wide Frames. The elfa solid drawers are compatible with the Medium Drawer Frames.

34" Drawer solution made up of two 17.5" frames?
In the Custom Drawer Planner, I chose the height to be 34". The planner determined that I needed 2 x Platinum elfa Drawer Frames
This seemed to be the frame that is needed:
Narrow 4-Runner Frame White
14" x 21" x 17-1/2" h
Since 17.5 * 2 = 35, I would like to find out what the actual height will be. How much of a height difference do the feet and caster wheels make?

The casters add an additional 2-3''. The feet do not add any additional height since we measure our drawer units with the feet included. The melamine top adds an additional inch of height as well.
