So satisfied with purchaseI am so glad I decided to take a chance and spend the money to purchase this much needed comfortable chair to work from home. I didn't really want the blue, but it was the only one left in stock at the time so I ordered it right away. It is a great chair and very comfy and supportive. I had a little bit of a challenge putting the seat part on but figured it out. I watched a simple YouTube video that was very helpful to make sure I did everything right with all the parts, screws etc. If you are looking for a great chair with or without arms, this is the one to get for a good price. Our office has one of these chairs without the arms so I knew it was a great chair and knew it would work for me at home. Purchase this chair!

So nice, we got it twiceMy partner has had this chair in blue for 3 years and it has held up through two moves and 40+ hours a week of use. It's comfortable, low profile and feels sturdy. It is such a good chair, I decided to buy it in black.
Aesthetically, it's an acquired taste, I think, but the quality definitely elevates it. The blue one seemed like maybe a step above dorm room chic when I first saw it, but I've come to appreciate it. And, the black one is actually stylish.

3 years and going strongI've had this chair for 3 years and I still enjoy sitting in it every day. It's very comfortable and has held up to use very well.
My partner bought it in black recently because she likes sitting in it too.
An option with a taller back would be a good addition to the line.

Parts don’t line upThe seat and the back don’t lineup so it’s impossible to put together. I emailed and was told to force it. It’s metal! Later emails recommended using a hammer as that is what another lady had to do. It That didn’t work so I have a useless chair. This appears to be a known issue. Store is closed due to COVID 19 so I can’t take it back for assistance. So disappointed.

Back and seat cushion parts do not fitI bought the grey chair with arms. Parts A and B do not fit. I have 2 other chairs (without Arms) and had no issues putting it together. Very disappointed. Based of the previous review this may a prevalent issue.

Very Comfy & SupportiveThis is a great chair and very supportive and comfortable. After being sent home to work from home due to COVID19, my current “office chair” after 2 weeks recked my back. After 2 days of using the bungee chair my back has never felt better. This chair is awesome!!! It rolls on carpet with no issues. Very, Very, very happy with this product and so glad my boss told me about this product. Never heard or seen this type of chair before!

came with defect!I tried out the chair at the store and absolutely loved it. It was expensive but I thought since I would be working from home for a while, it could still be worth it, so I finally decided to order one last week. And it arrived today WITH DEFECT. The back of the chair is about 2mm too short and it simply doesn't snap on. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. During quarantine time, I don't know how i am going to return this chair. Would love some response and helpful next steps from the company.

The BEST!!!I have a very bad low back. I've had back surgery and now have bulged discs. This is hands down the most comfortable chair I have ever set in. I use it for office work, sewing and crafting and I would HIGHLY recommend this for anyone who has low back problems. The only drawback is that it only comes in three colors. I would love to buy another one in pink or red.

Super ergonomic!I bought this chair back in 2012 on sale, and I still love it. It has held up wonderfully, and is shockingly ergonomic. I have a lot of wrist pain as well as back pain, and this chair works better than any office chair I've tried. Highly rec!

Simple and effectiveI've had this chair for over a week. So far I love it. Easy to assemble, comfortable (I have lower back issues) and supportive. The wheels roll easily on my bamboo mat. I didn't think I'd like the arms, but I do. They aren't fixed, so if you don't like arms, you don't have to put them on. With my previous chair, I had to use two pads to make it comfortable, but I don't need them with this chair.

Most Comfortable Chair EverI have had issues with tailbone pain for 2 years and this is the first chair I've used in 2 years that doesn't cause me any pain whatsoever when I use it. I have paid in the car, on the couch, in every other office chair. This one has some magic that has stopped my pain from the first moment I used it. Even if you have no issues, I know you'll love the way this chair feels and performs. PS I'm a big girl and it fits me just fine. Also would be good for a smaller person.

Holds 450 pounds, but not comfortablyThis is my second bungee chair. I love both chairs, but I just want to point out that large people may want to stick to the armless version. The distance between arms is 19 inches, and the arms cut into my legs if I don't keep my knees together, even though I'm nowhere near 450 pounds.

Comfy and sturdyThis is the second bungee office chair that we purchased from the Container Store. The first one became so coveted in our household that we’d move it back and forth from the upstairs office to the downstairs office even though it was really inconvenient to do so. Chair #1 held up really well after a few years of being used so extensively. We’re pleased as punch with our second bungee office chair.

Not exactly what i hoped for but its goodThe back in this chair isnt very tall, and thats coming from a guy who is 5’8. The bands themselves are a bit too stiff also but this chair is certainly more comfortable than you average office chair. Easy assembly

Best office chair I've ownedWhile I don't think this is the most attractive chair in the world, it is the most comfortable I've ever sat in. There are no pressure points and it gives unmatched back support. I often find taller backed chairs push my head forward at an awkward angle, and this hits just around the shoulder blades so that's a nonissue. I have bulging disks and the relief I feel when leaning back in this chair is like nothing I've ever experienced. Can't sing it's praises enough. Took less than 20 min to assemble (ordered online). Very lightweight yet sturdy.

Comfort and valueAlthough I buy many products each year, I write almost no product reviews, due to a lack of time; this product is an exception because of how strongly I feel about it. Some details about my use case, to put things in context: I've bought three of these chairs so far -- two with flat bungees and arms (for myself) and one with round bungees and no arms (for my son). I've used these chairs, collectively, for years now. I work from home, and this is my primary desk chair, for both work and personal time at my desk; my chair gets used an insane number of hours per day and days per year...probably far more than I should admit! My work involves a lot of time behind a desk at a computer, and my evenings are often spent either working or paying bills, doing email, etc.
Until I discovered this chair, I experienced a lot of discomfort and fatigue over the course of the work day. Even with good ergonomic habits, and appropriate breaks, very few chairs can withstand, over the long run, as much use as I give a chair (sadly). I've tried the big "executive" chairs from the office superstores, and the very expensive chairs from a major furniture brand (think: close to $1,000) in my prior office. The fact is that this bungee chair performs as well as the more expensive chairs (which do the trick if you've got a grand to spend), but at a fraction of the price. If you're not spending big corporate dollars, you know what I'm talking about.
The bungee straps on this chair are firm and supportive, but they conform and give enough to make the chair comfortable over many, many hours per day. Amazingly, even with use over the course of the day, they don't sag -- at least not noticeably. The chair is sized appropriately enough to support me as an average (or, maybe a little above average) weight and sized male, both in length and width. The height of the back is just right. I can lean back comfortably, for those times when I want to put my feet up. Finally, the chair not only lasts hour-by-hour through the day, but day-to-day, month-to-month, and year-to-year. Yes, eventually, after a number of years, I did hand down my chair to my son (he upgraded from the round bungee one with no arms to take my older, flat bungee one because we feel that flat is better than round), and I bought a new chair -- but it's the exact same model I had before, just a refresher after several years, because it was just that good!
Of course, it was also easy to assemble, and requires really no care or maintenance other than, perhaps, a wiping of dust and basic hygiene, like any other piece of furniture (or less); I suppose you could even never touch it and still be fine. This is definitely a great piece of furniture and a good value for the money, particularly when it goes on sale, it can't be beat.

Can the arms be removed?
I prefer a chair without arms. I tried this chair in the store and it is just what I want. However, I cannot determine if the arms can be removed.

When you order the chair it is shipped to you; you receive the chair in a box and the arms are not attached. When you assemble the chair it would be a simple matter to simply not attach the arms.
In my opinion, it will not affect the performance of the chair one bit.

Rhondie, if you pull out or push in the handle that raises and lowers the seat you can set it either to tilt back or stay upright. I don't think there's a way to lock it when tilted back.

Bungee Cord Office Chair
I'm torn between purchasing the bungee chair with arms and the one without. I understand the arm chair has flat bungees while the other has round. I'm 4' 9-1/2" tall and sat in both the chairs at our local Container Store...and read lots of the reviews and questions/answers. Which is more comfortable? What is the manufacturer or each chair type?
