Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed Just what I needed a storage bin that could fit all my T-shirts without taking up space in my dresser drawer â¿¿ and drop top front containers that can fit all my shoes properly, without having to move a stack of shoe boxes just to find one shoe. â¿¿

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Christmas Tree Storage Solved I did a pick up online order so I wasn’t able to first see the container before ordering. I relied on a few quick measurements and online reviews. I was a bit nervous because I saw several reviews that said their tree didn’t fit, and some even mentioned needing two of these containers. Well I’m here to say that I have an 8ft Fir Tree that breaks down into three pieces and it all fit with room to spare. As you can see from photos, I decided to take advantage of the extra storage space by adding several additional holiday items to the container. Thanks Container Store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HUGE tote! This is the biggest tote I have....and it was perfect for my needs. The wheels make it easier to move. The only negative is that you would need to be thoughtful of the items you want to store. Mine was almost too heavy but after some reconsideration of items it became manageable. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love this storage bin This is the best storage bin ever!! Im an organizer & used it to hold all of my clients Xmas lights it was absolutely perfect! The lid is raised allowing more storage space. This is definitely my go to storage bin!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great size, bad material Buying some this size usually means your storing something large which means heavy. We bought this to store our above ground pool in. It rolled up and fits in the box perfectly- but the lid snapped as soon as a box weighing about 10lbs was placed on top of it. The side is already cracking as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Christmas Tree Storage This is the only place that I could find a bin that fit my 7.5 foot, 3-piece, pre-lit Christmas tree AND fit under my 18-inch high bed frame. The tree fits perfectly with not much room to spare. It is so much easier to move than the bag we had before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for xmas tree I have a 9ft slim xmas tree that breaks down into 4 pieces that I’ve been searching for a storage box for since I bought it 3 years ago. The bag I stored it in was huge, took up tons of space, and was impossible to move once the tree was inside. I bought one of these first, and it fit two pieces only, so I had to pickup another box, and I do tie the branches to compress the tree when storing it. However with two boxes I easily was able to store the tree, but if yours isn’t a slim one, you probably need 3 boxes. I rolled the boxes into my garage and down 2 concrete steps (very carefully) with no issues and it takes up much less space than before! I wish the boxes were a bit taller and wider, but I was happy I only needed two for the tree. I’m storing these on the ground, as lifting them is difficult given the large size and heavy contents, but they stacked nicely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but Not Great I purchased this large tote to store my 6.5 ft narrow balsam fir Christmas tree. I wanted to get rid of the cardboard box that the tree came in, but did not want to only store the tree in the bag it came with. As other reviewers have noted, it is a snug fit, primarily because the dimensions aren't perfect for fitting larger pre-lit trees. The box was long enough, but would have been better if it was slightly wider or slightly deeper. I think the tote also needs additional latches along the long sides to keep the lid fitting firmly and protect the contents. I added two bands of tape in the middle to ensure it was better sealed and so that I could store the box upright without the lid bulging. Overall, the tote will do the trick and add an extra layer of protection for my tree while it sits in the garage during the off season.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Shallow A tree that needs a box this long (like mine) can NOT fit in a 14" deep box. Wish I could find a box this long that is 20wide AND 20 high. Also, the middle falls open without a strap around it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit Great Size (will fit a couple trees if you have smaller ones)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Christmas tree storage solution We purchased 2 to split up the components of the large diameter tree, but the reduced weight made them much easier to move. Heavier duty and better attached latches on the ends would be great. Also adding a latch on each side would help secure it better. Still, they are great, and the wheels are a back-saver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Tree Storage I have a 6.5 ft. tree and it fits perfectly in this box with plenty of leftover room. My tree is not exceptionally full, so I can imagine that a really full, taller tree might not work with this box but, for me, there was more than enough room. The box is very lightweight and the rollers on one end make this easy to transport. The only thing that concerns me are the latches on the ends with none on the sides. I think the box would be more secure against wildlife if there were latches on both sides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great storage for the tree I have a 7 1/2 foot tree (slim style) and it fit easily into this box. The box is easy to move as you can wheel it, and also easy to store horizontal or upright. Tried a tree storage bag prior and despite seeming to be durable, the branches ripped it. This is the perfect storage solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tree storage box with exceptions! I have 2 Christmas trees, 1 is 6.5 foot and it fit perfectly in 1 storage box. This tree comes in 3 pieces and we had to really squish it down in the box, but it fit perfectly with no bulging of the lid or sides. Our 7.5 ft tree is also in 3 pieces and it had o go into 2 boxes. I didn't mind making the purchase of an additional box because this is 110% better than the tree bags that are awkward and hard to store. Product says it can hold up to an 8 ft tree. I find that hard to believe UNLESS you have a tree that the limbs come off individually. Others have said the same and after purchasing and using, I agree. I find no issue with stacking these containers. Others have said they don't stack well, but ours do stack well and they're not sliding off as some others have commented so I'm not sure if the design has changed since their purchase or if I'm just stacking differently than them. All in all, definitely a great purchase. Very, very pleased

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems OK for now I purchased this for a new 7.5 ft pre-lit tree that breaks into 3 pieces. It was a tight fit. I think the description "Easily fits an 8' tall tree" is a bit exaggerated because there was little room to spare. It probably would have worked better with an older tree where all of the branches are added individually, but this tree is in three sections and doesn't pack as easily into the narrow shape of this box. I would have preferred the box be a little deeper and not as long. There are no latches along the long edge, so the tree had to really be crushed down so the edges did not buckle or open. Also the length made it awkward to get down the stairs (that turn at one place) to our basement for storage. I like the products from Container Store, so I thought I would give it a try especially after getting the after-holiday sale price for it (I would never pay full price for a plastic bin!). Only time will tell if the sides hold up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storage Works great. Fit my 7 1/2 foot artificial tree. Has clips on both ends and wheels on one side.
Date published: 2016-01-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice idea, doesn't hold the whole tree. The cardboard box our very old tree came in was falling apart, and my husband wanted something easier to haul up from the basement. Other reviewers said it didn't hold their whole tree that disassembled in sections. Our tree was a 7.5' one of the older type that has individual branches that slide into slots on the trunk, so I had hoped it could fit in a single storage box. Unfortunately, it did not. We did get a second storage box when they went on sale for half price. The other small problem is that if you don't hold it in just the right place when pulling, the latch can come undone. Also, when putting it away the wood floor at the top of the stairs was scratched a bit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Will NOT fit an 8' tree! While the description says it can fit an 8' tree, I assure you it does not. We have a 7.5' tree that is not very wide, and could not get it in into one of these bins. We ended up getting a second bin and put two tree sections in one bin and the larger bottom section in the second bin. The handles don't really snap closed too well - as soon as you attempt to grab them to move the bin they open. Also, the wheels aren't great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Container - But Not For Trees I bought this to store my 6 1/2 foot pre-lit tree. The tree only has a 38" bottom diameter, but it is a full tree. It comes in 3 sections and the bottom section would not fit in this container no matter how many ways we tried to fit it in. The length of the container is fine, but the width is too narrow. I will use it to store other items, but it is not for a tree unless it is VERY narrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tree storage box Easy to handle, although it was a very tight fit for our tree. Could use one that is longer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Depends on size of tree This worked really well for my old tree, which was a 6.5 foot slim line tree. I had to buy a new tree this year and I got a 7.5 foot regular tree and there is no way my new tree will fit. The top won't even close with just one section in the box. Bottom line, this is a great product if you have a smaller tree. I love that it has hard sides and you can stack (light) things on top. But if your tree has any heft to it at all, it won't work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for larger trees We bought a beautiful 7 foot tree, very full with lots of branches. It came in a cardboard carton perhaps a bit longer than one of these totes, but not much wider or deeper. The tree comes in 3 pieces: a large bottom piece, a middle piece, and the very top. We'd been leaving it set up in an unused corner of the basement when I spotted these boxes at the Container Store. I bought two of them - and can barely get the tree into them. The box is too narrow / shallow for the large bottom part of the tree (though the length is just fine), and we have to force the sides inward to get the lid on - this is after spending quite a bit of time flattening and compacting all the branches as much as humanly possible. The lid then barely stays in place as we're taking the tree down to the basement. It usually pops off at least once in transit - and the sides don't stay firmly seated. The top and middle sections go into the other large box and fit much better. One of the boxes developed a crack the second year we owned it - in fairness, a couple of kids were playing around them and it probably got climbed on. I have to give the design credit, the box is still usable - just not something I'd want to subject to any more pounding. So all in all, it would probably do very well for a 6 foot tree, or a taller skinnier one - but for a 7 foot very full tree, these do NOT do the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK Tree Box I have a very full tree and it was hard to fit the tree into the box. Lid needed to be taped down in order to keep the box closed.
Date published: 2014-01-26
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy & holds a lot The container is sturdy and holds quite a bit, but when you lift to carry or roll, the lids comes unlocked and it can be difficult to keep closed
Date published: 2014-01-21
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too small I'm sad to agree with the other reviewers. I have a 7-1/2' slim tree that comes apart in three sections. I had to bungee each section very tightly, smush them into the container, and then kneel on the top of the box after latching the lid closed to get it to stay inside; even after all that, the container is bulging at the sides. I'm not sure how log the latches are going to hold and have little confidence I'll be able to move the tree anywhere without the container popping open. I had purchased this container after first trying the larger, green canvas heavy duty storage bag, which was too big. I figured this one would be the right size, but it is too small! Something in between would be perfect, especially with latches on all four sides for a more secure fit. I will probably just get a couple more bungees to wrap around the middle of the container to make sure it stays closed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Christmas Tree Storage Box This box works well for storing our 7' Christmas tree. As other reviews indicate, for a fluffy 7' tree, it is a squeeze. To avoid bulging sides, we put straps and bungees around the tree before putting into this box, and this kept it from bulging the sides. The packed tree is much easier to handle when stored in this box rather than just kept in an oversized tree bag. If it were bigger, it would be very difficult for one person to handle. Naturally, the best thing to do is keep the box that the tree was shipped in, but this oversized plastic box is the next best thing, and works fine for us.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "Most of the Tree" Storage Box with Wheels This tree storage box with wheels is a good idea. The description states: Artificial trees up to 8' tall are easily stored and well-protected in this oversized, 46 gallon Tree Storage Box.it fits artificial trees up to 8' tall easily. In reality, it does not easily store a tree that large. I have a 7' "slim" tree. I can fit the bottom and the top of the tree in this container. There was no way the middle section was going to fit in there, so it is housed in the original tree box. I purchased this on-line and picked it up in the store. I had serious reservations that it could fit the tree when I picked it up - it looked no larger than the original box the tree came in. But I thought I'd give it a shot. I kept it because I figured a plastic container would protect the tree better than cardboard.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OUR TREE DID NOT FIT; MAYBE YOURS WILL I was so excited to find this storage box. Our tree is 7 1/2" tall and in the mid-narrow category (it is not a full, flowing tree, nor a skinny one). Our tree is in 3 tiers and it does not fit in there. It is overflowing from the sides. We tried so hard to shut the box on at least 2 sides and it won't do it. We will just have to work harder or purchase the more expensive $40.00 canvas type tree holder. This box would otherwise have been great.
Date published: 2014-01-15
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not deep enough for the tree I can't imagine any way on earth an entire tree would fit into one of these boxes. We ended up going back to get a 2nd box for the bottom 1/3 of the tree. Maybe if you have a very, very skinny tree you could make it work, but I doubt it. We squeezed, pushed, tied, etc. and nothing was going to get all 3 tiers of our full 7 1/2 ft tree into one box. It'd be great if TCS would make this about 12" - 18" deeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tree Storage We purchased two of these boxes in hope that our Christmas trees would fit in them. Went out on a wing. To our surprise THEY FIT and the lids snapped shut!!! NO bulging what-so-ever. VERY pleased with these boxes and LOVE that they are see thru so we know exactly what's in them :)
