Better than I expected! This tray fits perfectly in the drawers of my 40s kitchen cabinets and looks like it was made for my kitchen!! I didn't expect it to be so heavy and substantial but aside from being just well made it means that the tray doesn't slide around in drawers like some cutlery trays have! Overall, thrilled with my purchase!! August 17, 2014
Really needed this This silverware organizer has helped me when moving to a new house that did not have much in the way of organizing things. This item plus the others I bought fit perfectly in my kitchen drawers. It looks classy, too. July 12, 2014
Perfect size I like to be creative when I buy an item so created a mini tool storage in a kitchen drawer as I could not handle the weight of a tool box. It is perfect holding screw drivers, picture hooks, wrench, various nails etc. July 2, 2014
Perfect Fit! Bought this tray to hold silverware in a narrow kitchen drawer over 5 years ago. It fit perfect then and in the two other kitchens I've had since. I purchased a larger one by another brand, but it didn't hold up well at all. April 25, 2014

100% Bamboo?

Is the "Deep Bamboo Cutlery Tray" constructed of 100% real bamboo? I have seen that many similar products use a laminate covered particle board or other such cheap shortcuts in their construction, especially for the bottom piece of the tray.

Staff Answer
This product is not laminate. The frame and dividers are 100% bamboo, but the bottom portion of the product is not bamboo.

Bamboo is a group of woody perennial evergreen plants of the grass family. Some of its members are giant bamboo, forming by far the largest members of the grass family. Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plant in the world: up to three to four feet a day. This accelerated growth rate allows bamboo to be harvested in three to five years, far more often than the 10 to 20 year harvest cycle of most softwoods. Unlike the environmental damage caused by the deforestation of trees, proper harvesting of bamboo leaves the root system intact, creating little or no topsoil disruption. This renewable, sustainable resource produces 35% more oxygen than its equivalent in trees while reducing carbon dioxide gas that is blamed for global warming. With the tensile strength of steel, it's the strongest growing woody plant in the world.
