After using the Revel backpack by IVAR on several trips, I'm now a believer and loyal user of this backpack. I was initially drawn to the bag specifically for its comfort benefits. With 100% conviction, I can say the Revel pack is far more comfortable that any backpack I've ever owned. Its innovative internal design offers great utility. Icing on the cake - this pack literally forces you to be organized.

Great backpack. It has a shelf system inside to not only protect electronics like tablets or full size laptops, but just to put things properly to sit on your back at equal areas instead of all falling to the bottom of the bag. also helps to organize that way, again so things aren't all at the bottom of your bag. three "shelves" help to divide and organize all your stuff.
good amount of padding on the back portion so it's comfortable.
the pack is ergonomically correct with the shelf system and also has the chest and waist straps to distribute the weight as well.
the side pockets are a tight mesh that you can't necessarily see through, but it stretches unlike other side pockets. i was able to fit a normal 16 oz bottle of water along with a small 8oz bottle i got later as well, without noticing anymore bulk to the pocket. the side pockets also come up high enough that bottles of water or an umbrella will not fall out at all. very secure!
i wasn't sure about the front pocket that is only strapped in by a top buckle. but it was made of the same material as the side pockets so it stretched with anything i put in there and was deep enough that i felt secure nothing would fall out. (sidenote- i put my quart-size liquids bag in here for easy access)
the top zippered pocket is extremely and deceptively large. i was able to put theme park tickets, keys (w/ lots of keychains attached), coin purse, business cards, a wallet, metrocard, wok id and more in there, with room to spare!
i'm petite, at 5 feet, so the backpack is longer than most backpacks on the market but as long as i use the waist strap it sits on my back properly. otherwise it would rest on the top of my behind instead of the bottom of my back. but that waist strap helps raise it to the proper place on my back instead.
this is a really great bag for everything you need, whether it's just everyday use, school use or traveling. i use it to travel on flights.
everything from my gel seat cushion, inflatable back pillow, knitting, 7" tablet, rolled up sarong, chargers for electronics and more go into this bag as my carry-on.
this is my second ivar pack and i love them. i would definitely purchase again when i'm ready for another upgrade.

Has no specail features compared to equally priced backpacks. Good for school. Too simple for travelling. The picture looks better than the actual product
