Satisfied (but a little room for improvement)
I bought the InterMetro Posts, 3 shelves & 4 rolling casters to set-up a shelving unit to contain my computer, UPS, a sub-woofer, cable modem, firewall and other misc. computer equipment.
Everything would have been perfect if the poles had been 1 little inch taller, but even without that inch, it's great having the bigger pieces off the floor and easy to clean/dust around. The open shelving makes it so much easier to run the wires and connect the bits & pieces to each other.

You can get functional...
When you look for storage you generally have to choose pretty or functional. The container store is not cheap but for a 36" wide x 14" deep set of adjustable height shelves you'll get what you need.
Yes, they should come in stainless and silver, not black, white and silver. Yes, you'd prefer them to be less expensive. And yes you'd like them to have 14" under shelf baskets. But if you need something to make a nook functional, this setup works.
1/8" or even 1/4" expanded hole plate might be better than 1/2" gap wire, but just put 1/8" lexan on top if you need it to be shelfy.

InterMetro post design change
The InterMetro post is a hollow steel tube with grooves spaced an inch apart to hold the shelves. It is coated with durable epoxy (or chrome plated).
In an earlier purchase several years ago, the posts had evenly spaced grooves. Now, there is an extra groove every 8 inches. This is a nuisance if you are trying to set the shelf to a height where it overlaps this extra groove.

I got these in silver. They come as 4 bundled together. Didn't notice until I got them home that there was a large dark mark on one of them, as if from rubbing against something. On another one, on the bottom, the paint looked like it was coming off. Structurally, they seem like they would hold up. But I'm giving a 2 because of the hassle of getting an entire set of these things, shelves and casters home and now I have to take it back to exchange it? I think all of it will be returned.
