Doesn't hold heavy books
I purchased two wooden shelves and used the triangle shaped aluminum brackets. Although I love the look in my kitchen, they are falling out of the wall with my cookbooks on them. The studs in the wall are not where I wanted the shelves, so we used the type of expanding bolts suggested. One shelf is coming away from the wall and the other one is slanting downwards which makes the books look like they are about to slide off. I am having a handyman come over to see if there is any other solution.

Very easy to install!
Very easy to install and works with just about any shelf!
We wanted 48" wide shelves, so put three brackets on each row.

nice!
I really like these brackets. They are sleek and versatile. I used wood shelving 1" thick and it looks great. Unlike the previous reviewer, I find that they hold plenty of weight, enough to hold my dishes and glassware. I made sure to drill into studs which may have made the difference.

These are not good shelf supports
We installed these today with a 12" x 25" shelf for our cable box and DVD player (approximate weight total 3lbs.) below our bedroom TV. First of all I will never understand why they use pictures for directions without any words, but we did finally figure out what the pictures meant. We installed these brackets into studs. Once the shelf was installed it was very obvious that the shelf dipped downwards. We corrected it by inserting cardboard, yes cardboard, under the bottom half of the brackets so it forces the shelf upward. I can't imagine how these brackets could hold 20lbs. + according to the "pictures". Would not purchase again.
