White Sapien Bookcase

Our Italian-designed and manufactured Sapien Bookcase turns traditional library storage on end. Ten shelves hold stacks of books horizontally to occupy a minimum of floor space. When fully loaded, the bookcase virtually disappears behind the books for the ultimate expression of minimalism. It's artistic organization at its best! See more product details below.

  • All-steel construction
  • Weighted base for stability

Love It The white is a pure white white. Easy to put together. Holds more books than I thought it would. Looks like a work of art. Gorgeous. September 2, 2013
Love it! Love this bookcase! Holds a ton of books and what's great is it looks good as you can obviously stack the larger books on the bottom and stack the smaller ones as you move up. Sturdy design, easy to setup....might just have to buy another one! September 26, 2013
Sleek Stylish Bookcase, Very Compact One of my favorite things for our guest bedroom makeover. It fits nicely in small spae in the corner of the room. Unique and stylish. October 4, 2013
Love Love Love Beautiful form and function; what great design is all about. Well made and easy to put together too! January 4, 2014

Anchoring?

I assume this needs to be anchored to the wall at the top? Or is it simply a matter of stacking the smaller books at the top, larger at the bottom?

How safe is this around children?

My grandson is age 3. There may be more in the future. How hard is it to be knocked over or pulled down by a child? I would like to put children's books on it. I have a lot from when mine were kids, but not a lot of space for a traditional bookshelf.

Answer:
The bookcase weighs 31 pounds and when weighed down with books, it shouldn't topple easily but we recommend placing it against a wall for safety. You may want to consider the option below instead.
