Post Extenders These Posts are best quality. I had bought another brand as well as having another InterMetro unit from Cntr. Stre.. Did not realize that I was trying to extend other brands posts (InterMetro posts can be extended easily. You have to buy extenders from InterMetro as currently Ctr. Stre. does not carry item. Extenders were not fitting tightly in other wire shelf unit, so use Locktite Professional (#8) glue to glue in post extenders and it workd (let dry for 24 hrs)! Buy Inter Metro - they are aexpandeble later as others are not! November 5, 2012

Crummy Paint I got these in silver. They come as 4 bundled together. Didn't notice until I got them home that there was a large dark mark on one of them, as if from rubbing against something. On another one, on the bottom, the paint looked like it was coming off. Structurally, they seem like they would hold up. But I'm giving a 2 because of the hassle of getting an entire set of these things, shelves and casters home and now I have to take it back to exchange it? I think all of it will be returned. Not worthy of five stars The one thing that really bothers me about the Intermetro posts is that the posts are not etched with marking numbers as a guide. When setting up an Intermetro shelving system, you should really use a tape measure so that each corner of the shelf is even otherwise you will end up with a lopsided shelf. How hard would it be for Intermetro to etch some numbers into each post? If you plan to place the posts on a delicate surface, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing a set of Intermetro protective feet. The metal feet alone can be damaging to a fragile surface. Oh, if you need the posts cut down to size for any reason, The Container Store will do so at no cost. It's a nice little thing they do. InterMetro post design change The InterMetro post is a hollow steel tube with grooves spaced an inch apart to hold the shelves. It is coated with durable epoxy (or chrome plated). In an earlier purchase several years ago, the posts had evenly spaced grooves. Now, there is an extra groove every 8 inches. This is a nuisance if you are trying to set the shelf to a height where it overlaps this extra groove. June 16, 2011
