InterMetro® Baker's Rack

Our commercial-styled InterMetro® Shelving Baker's Rack blends perfectly with any decor while providing more counter and storage space. The four adjustable shelves are sturdy enough for appliances or bulk food. Display cookbooks, canisters, or plants on the top shelf. The rail with four hooks keeps utensils handy. The Maple Butcher Block Top is a classic kitchen work surface. For additional storage possibilities, add a Storage Basket. Place Metro® Clear Shelf Liners on the shelves to prevent smaller items from slipping through. Light assembly required; all hardware included. See more product details below.

Rack it up The bakers rack with wine rack looks great and is a nice sturdy work surface. The shelves are generous and easily hold heavy pots. The top shelf is a nice spot for colorful coffee mugs or tins. July 7, 2010
Maximize Space We recently remodeled our cottage and wanted a closet near the kitchen to store extra china, appliances, serving pieces and tablecloths. Items not used on a daily basis but essential to entertaining. The closet under the stairs became the perfect spot. However, it was too narrow to accommodate built-in shelving on both sides. We headed to the Container Store for a solution and found the InterMetro Baker rack. We purchased two and solved our problem. We also purchased a clear plastic suit bag to 'contain' the tablecloths. Now these items are all in one place, visible, and the need to search cabinets for them has been eliminated. An extra benefit was we were able to use a couple shelves for extra wine storage. We love this shelving! (I attempted to upload a picture to show this solution but it wouldn't load. :-( April 4, 2014
Tiny kitchen savior We've had our baker's rack about four months now, and even after loading it up with all of our stuff and using it every day, it's still in great shape and so practical. Our NYC kitchen has no counter space, so we use the butcher block top for all of our chopping and mixing in addition to using it for storage. It also allowed us to hang most of our pots and pans without having to install a pot rack into the wall, which is great since we're renting and aren't particularly handy. The only flaw in the design when you use the butcher block for chopping, and especially for slicing bread, is that it's difficult to clear off without getting crumbs in the crevice between the edge of the butcher block and the metal shelf that holds it in place. Usually countertops hang over a bit, but this is the opposite--the butcher-block is recessed a bit, so it's extremely difficult to clean off crumbs. November 22, 2013
A kitchen workhorse My husband and I are culinary professionals who work in a restaurant and so are quite familiar with the Metro Shelves line. We maximize our use of this piece with hooks everywhere and an extra wine rack. This rack is a serious workhorse if you want it to be. Currently it holds our wine bottles, 15+ pots and pans (including a our all clad stock pot and roasting rack, and a le creuset dutch oven), our pasta machine, vacuum sealer, chinois, food mill, kitchenaid mixer, and vitamix blender. And more. We live in a tiny San Francisco studio apartment but have the space for a serious kitchen arsenal thanks to this rack! We use up the entire rack for storage in a manner that makes it difficult for us to use it as a work surface, but that is ideal for us. We use the wooden block to hold some of our ceramic serve ware since we mostly use our large butcher block table as a work surface. But the work space is quite ample and comfortable to work on. I personally would be slightly concerned about food spillage onto the rack and items underneath. June 28, 2013
