Sycamore Melamine Shelves
Love the elfa system. redesigning our previous elfa shelves into our new house. versatile and adaptable to our needs and changing space. only negative is that the new shelves are 11 3/4" in depth not 12" like it says or like our older elfa shelves. They do not sit flush when next to each other. We reconfigured, and had enough to put the old shelves together on one level and the newer shelves on another so the difference in depth was not reflected.

As good as the wood shelves less cost!
I had birch and drift wood units in my old house. Loved them, but hated the upkeep and the fact that the kids could mess them up a little too easily to my mind. Besides, they were expensive! We also had the white melamine, it was sturdy, easy to clean and resisted stains but SOOOO boring.
The sycamore and other melamine are wonderful. They look so nice, everyone thinks they are solid wood when they see them and after three moves they still look brand new.
Bottom line, great look, cannot tell they are not solid wood without a very close look, take a significant amount of abuse without damage and are easy to clean.

I have these in our bathroom and kitchen and love them! They can hold a ton of weight, just like they say in the description and they look great too! I've had mine for 3 years and I haven't had a single issue with them. Make sure that you install them correctly though!

Reconfigured one of my closets with the elfa system and love it. Super easy to install yourself (hardest part was in fact taking down old stuff). And these shelves are perfect for storing all of my shoes. (and a lot less expensive than the decor shelves). Super easy to install and they lock into place which is great.
