Old Technology The Space Bar is a clever idea badly crippled by old USB technology. It offers USB 1.1 (as I recall), which is painfully slow with respect to transferring files and synchronizing iPods. The current standard is 3.0. I note that the product is not currently available on the maker's web site, suggesting that a rebuild/update of the electronics may be in process. January 2, 2014
Great Accessory for Deskoholics I bought this to slide my keyboard under my monitor. The four USB ports are a plus and I now can see my flash drives. I always forgot them when I plugged them in elsewhere in the computer. Lights too bright? I stuck iPhone Button stickers over the lights. They now have a soft glow and a cool custom look. This is priced high but I won't mind giving one as a gift for my friend. She really liked it and good friends are worth more then money. November 22, 2013
Works great Setup took just a few minutes. Standard Mac keyboard fits fine under the monitor. Really worked to clear the clutter on my desk. August 21, 2013
Not loving it Keyboard doesn't fit - my own fault as I didn't measure and thought FOR SURE my keyboard would fit. It's ergonomic, so a bit bigger than most I guess. Since keyboard wouldn't go under, tried to slide my laptop under and would only have to undo 1 plug when packing up for the day - laptop doesn't fit under it either. Height is off by about 1/2 inch. So, this did nothing that I purchased it for. Wish it was a little taller. USB ports don't benefit me like I thought they would, wish it had port to plug monitor directly into. March 18, 2013

Answer:
The USB ports for this product are 2.0. Since USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports may coexist on the same machine and look similar, the USB 3.0 connector has a blue insert.

The back two USB ports allow you to charge your iPad, Kindle, iPhone, etc.. The front 4 USB ports are only pass thru ports for cameras, scanners, etc. The front 4 USB ports will charge the iPhone but not the iPad.
