Great scissors - IF you don't have large hands or fat/swollen fingers. They look great. They cut great. IF you cut like a hair stylist or dog groomer. By that I mean, not putting all your fingers into the larger section of the handle. Anyone with large hands or fat/swollen fingers (mine are large arthritic hands) will find that as soon as they cut something their fingers will get pinched because of the openings in the finger sections. I've learned (while using them to prune my tomato plants) that I MUST keep at least two fingers outside the larger section in order not to injure my fingers (I already deal with enough hand/finger pain - I don't need more! LOL). Because of the natural tendency for your fingers and thumb to push against the sides where the openings are, the fleshy parts of your fingers squeeze through the openings. The designer should have put the openings on the opposite sides of the finger and thumb sections. What was he thinking?! Better yet, why have those openings at all - other than for looks or style? However, I do like the fact that they're stainless. I can leave them outside by my tomato plants and pick them up any time I need/want to prune without worrying about them rusting. I also soak them in bleach water (I keep a bottle of it near the plants) so I can sterilize the scissors from plant to plant (thereby not transferring anything like spotted wilt virus, etc.). All-in-all, I give these scissors a rating of 3 stars. 1 star for design, 5 stars for quality and excellent cutting ability. June 10, 2012
