Good Sharpener This pencil sharpener is a recent purchase, but I am pleased with it. It is well-built and substantial. The test pencils were evenly sharpened, and the base holds firmly during use. It was a little pricey, but seems worth the cost. March 9, 2013

Mehh Just like the one we had at school. It sharpens only half the point leaving the led portion still covered with wood. Maybe this was just my experience, it could work great for others January 13, 2011

X-Acto Vacuum-Mount Pencil Sharpener-horrible Please do yourselves a favor and DO NOT buy this product! I thought it would be a great addition to our home school classroom, but alas, it has been nothing but a headache. I would have returned it, but I bought it about 1.5 months before school started and (naively) assumed it would work as advertised. When we finally got around to using it, it was still another couple of weeks before I let myself admit that it was an overpriced poorly constructed sharpener. Bad, bad, bad....I can't say anything good about it. It ate our pencils, it falls apart CONSTANTLY, it is just useless. After many months of trying to make it work we finally trashed it, but not before it spilled shavings onto my floor MULTIPLE times, ate about 100 pencils and got jammed repeatedly. Buy at your own risk...or at least be prepared to return this item. April 26, 2010
