Not What You May be Expecting...
I went shopping for certain items to fill a specific need. I didn't care what the item was called, or what it was originally intended to be. I had a need, and I went in search of something to meet that need. In this instance, I needed a spice rack that would fit into a smallish space roughly 14 inches square. I saw the adjustable paper sorter, and saw... SPICE RACK! I bought it. It is perfect for my purpose. I'd buy another, if I discovered a similar need for it. Moral to this story: keep an open mind and be willing to imagine an object in a setting other than advertised. In this case, the item is perfect for my use; I couldn't have designed it better myself!

I was nervous about this sorter because of the price but it was worth every penny. It is VERY sturdy and the ability to change the sizes of the sections is fantastic. I added one extra set of dividers and plan to buy at least one more set. Great for homeschooling families!

I LOVE this thing. I use it at work because I have a lot of different forms that I have to use, but I don't need 200 of each form accessible at any given time. I have probably 15-20 different forms that I use on a regular basis, but I only need 20-30 copies of each form accessible. Every other sorter that I looked at had a huge space between the two sorters, for 200+ sheets. That just didn't work for me. Since putting it up in my office, I've had many people stop and look at it. One other coworker actually went out and purchased one.
I will say that I was surprised to read some of the reviews about not being able to hold - much - cardstock. That was until I noticed that I put the individual trays into the sorter backward (story of my life...). :) If you need to hold more paper/heavier paper, try this. You will need a little more space in between sorters to be able to open them, because the sorter has a lip on it, but for some reason this appears to make the trays much more stable. Plus, the lip holds the paper in.
