Practical + Organized, but...
I love bags with pockets and tons of organizational options with a place for everything that I carry. I also like my purses to be small, as I generally carry a tote for my commute. That said, once I loaded up this purse with a few items, it really got bulky - its pinched top and expansion at the bottom made it bulk up at the base unevenly. And at $100, it's kind of prcey for a nylon bag, although I was willing to dismiss that if it were otherwise perfect...and vice versa. If it weren't so expensive, I could overlook that bulkiness and it's utilitarian look, but for $100, I wanted it to be good looking AND practical.
I will unfortunately be returning it and continue my quest for that elusive 'perfect' purse that satisfies my need to organize, minimze and look stylish too. I'm sure if I find a Unicorn, it will lead me to such a purse! ;-)

Functional storage, secure yet lightweight
I prefer function over fashion in a purse, so it's no surprise I would find the perfect everyday bag for me at the Container Store, and it's made by Baggallini. The photo doesn't do justice to its effectiveness as organized storage, secure with plenty of zippers and flaps, yet lightweight and comfortable.
I love how there's a separate area for "money stuff" that's hidden, exposed only when you need to access it. The flapped pocket shown in the photo is itself a big magnetized flap. It lifts to reveal a large accordion-style organizer containing six credit card slots, a little open pocket (in which I keep my small plastic wallet organizer containing my driver's license and insurance cards), a wide zippered pocket for cash, a wide, open pocket to hold receipts, a pen loop, and room for a checkbook. Best of all, this organizer has a double-pull zipper to close it securely, but you can simply let the flap cover it when you're too busy to zip it up.
The flap which you see in the photo opens to a wide but flat storage area with a couple of pockets. It's great for items you use frequently: I store my cell phone in one pocket and my lip balm and hand lotion in the other, and then throw my earbuds and ponytail holders in there as well. (The website description says you can put your sunglasses in there, but mine are too big to allow the magnetized flap to stay closed.)
The main compartment is roomy as described on the website and works well for items I don't need at the ready. But I also store my sunglasses here, and they're easily accessible because this compartment doesn't need to be zipped -- it's deep enough to contain its contents (in my case, sunglasses, inhaler, epi-pen, comb, miscellaneous items stored in the detachable zippered wallet, a pack of tissues, and keys) without zipping. When traveling, I also store an 8-oz bottle of water here and can zip up the compartment easily--it's deceptively large.
My only quibbles: I wish the bag were available in other colors, and the main compartment could use a magnet for when you don't want to zip it. But this bag is a keeper!

The way the compartments are laid out made it very easy to find all my stuff during a recent trip. Although it doesn't look very big, you can fit more than you think. Very light which is great for my arthritis. Love the ID sleeve's ease of use.
