Ergonomic Foam Soap Pump
Love it! My Go-To Housewarming Gift
While shopping last year, I read the reviews on this site and others and was skeptical as to whether this would perform to my expectations, especially since it is a little pricey on the front end. I am pleased to say that it does.
I have given it as a housewarming gift several times and there have been no complaints, only rave reviews about the luxurious, rich foam. I am actually heading to my local Container Store today to pick up another one for a friend who bought a new house. The suction cup is genius, yet easily comes off the counter on cleaning day.
I think some of the problems may have to do with what type of "soap" is used in the dispenser. We use Bath and Body Works shower gel or Mrs. Meyer's hand soap in ours; a friend uses Kiss My Face liquid soap, another friend uses whatever high-end liquid soap is on sale at her favorite boutique bath shop, and my hair stylist uses the Aveda hand and body washes.
My daughter has already requested that when she moves into her own apartment next year that she also receive this pump. As always, if there is a problem, I would return it to The Container Store, as they are always gracious when something doesn't work out.

Looks great, doesn't foam
Purchased this to try to curb my six-year-old's overuse of hand soap, hoping that a handful of foam would convince him that a single pump would suffice. Unfortunately, whether it is the brand of soap we use, or something else, this pump doesn't foam at all. It does spit out a conservative droplet of soap, but no foam.
It is a nice-looking dispenser, though, and it is nice to have the suction cup on the bottom so that it doesn't always end up in the sink when the kids bang on it.

Loved at first but stopped working
We are so disappointed because we loved this soap dispenser. It stopped working after 6 months. At first it would get stuck in the down position. Then it stopped bringing up soap. I cleaned it thoroughly but it didn't help.

Ok if no kids
The pump works fine. The rest of the features are good/bad.
It is easy open for filling. A bit too easy open as my toddler manages to open it while trying to bring it closer to him so he can use pump it.
It has a suction cup on the bottom. It needs the suction cup since the ergonomic design (which I don't feel necessary) makes it tip easier. It doesn't fit in the soap indent on one sink so it's off to one side. We frequently have smaller kids using the bathroom, and they can barely reach it, so they need to be able to pull it towards them to be able to use it, which makes the suction cup a bit annoying.
I do really like that it's clear. It's easy to see where to fill and if it needs more filling, and if it's mixed.
If you have no small children, it works well. If you do, it's not quite so good.
(I can't say much to the longevity. I've only had it a few weeks. Hasn't broken yet).
