Just the ticket for managing loads of paper! These baskets are just the right size and right price when you've got a massive paper dragon to slay. I buy them by the dozen! They give me hope that I WILL vanquish this monster someday! Previously, I was spending a LOT of $$ on the cheapest plain wire letter trays I could find - at about $7 each and not half as deep! (These could stand to have JUST a touch bigger footprint to accomodate file folders better. As it is, they do fit with a little squeeze.) March 18, 2010
Neato This product has become an essential for my classroom. It has really helped me to organize many math materials for my first grade students. These baskets can also hold an 81/2 x 11 sheet of paper perfectly. I love that they are baskets so you can see through it to what is inside. They are also very affordable! May 18, 2010
Best and cheapest organizer ever! I have about 3 dozen of these baskets. They are in the pantry to keep like food groups together (i.e., ethnic seasoning packets), in the closet to hold sox, in the kids' rooms to hold small supplies and gaming controls, in the kids bathrooms to hold "personal" grooming items, in the garage for extension cords, in the laundry room for lightbulbs, in the refrigerator to store odd jars of spices and rubs, in the bathroom and kitchen to gather cleaning bottles, under the kitchen sink to hold tea towels, on the kitchen counter to gather up odds and ends so everyone can return their scattered items to the proper place, in my home office to hold mail, also in the office to hold small supplies. I have a couple in my family room to hold various controls for the Wii and TV, to hold playing cards and score pads. Some boxes are lined, others are used exactly as they are. They hold small craft supplies and sewing items. If there is anything else I can use them for I will. November 29, 2010
Best Overall Storage Basket Since my original purchase of 4 of these baskets, I have purchased 12 more at my local Container Store. Absolutely love these baskets... great price, great size for closet shelf , under sink, kitchen cabinet, just about anywhere... February 14, 2011

Answer:
The plastic for this particular product is softer, but we do not have any information regarding your particular question. The product is intended to be stationary. If you are concerned about slide marks, we recommend placing a soft liner on the underside of the product as a precaution.
