Rectangular Typha Laundry Basket
The size of this basket was perfect for our space, and I like the side handles for carrying. But beware the liner; it's cheaply made and I've tried several that do not fit properly (way to small to fit over sides). I'm not using one that's ripped along one of the corner seams. And I wouldn't recommend using the basket for laundry without the liner, since the fiber is pretty rough and the wire frame sits on the inside of the basket. Aesthetically appealing, but not the best for functionality.

I love my new blanket holder!
I wanted an extra large basket to hold my crocheted blankets and throws. This basket fit the bill perfectly. The liner helps prevent snags in the crocheted items and it looks beautiful in the room.

This was an impulse purchase at the store. I live in a tiny condo, so space is very minimal, but I thought it went well with my Texas-country décor, so I wouldn't mind using it as a hamper in the open. My washer/dryer only fit half loads, so I always have a TON of laundry to wash (and no time to do it), but this fits most everything in it so I don't have piles of clothes lining my hallway. I haven't tried to pick it up when full, so I'm not sure how durable it is, but I did bring it into the condo with plenty of other items purchased at The Container Store.

I got this for the family I nanny for to use as a toy box for the baby. They wanted something more natural looking to fit in with their style, and this works great. it fits all of her toys, is sturdy enough that she can pull up on it without it tipping but light enough to move around, etc.
My only complaint is the liner. While it says it is machine washable, it doesn't say how to dry it...i dried it on low, and it shrank a little. This actually worked to our advantage because that meant it was now tight enough to actually stay put on the basket instead of falling in, but after a few weeks it's stretched out and is starting to pull away from the rim. I can imagine that this would be annoying if you were using it as a laundry basket too! I've actually considered sewing it to the basket in a few places to make it stay put, but want to still be able to remove and wash it if needed...might try a safety pin or something.
