Our one-of-a-kind simplehuman® 10 gallon Rectangle Sensor Can is the only all-stainless sensor can on the market today! simplehuman® 10 gal. Rectangle Sensor Can

Ready Mode The trigger zone is a focused space directly above the lid. It's easy to reach when you want to use the can. But it's also very precise. The sensor signal doesn't spill out in front of the can where it can be mistakenly triggered when you walk nearby.
Task Mode Once the lid is open, the trigger zone extends to become more sensitive to activity. That way the can is sure to know if you're still in the area, so the lid won't close before you've finished your task.
Stay-Open Mode for longer chores such as changing the liner or cleaning up after dinner. The lid conveniently stays open for an extended period. After three seconds of continued activity, the can switches to a 30-second stay-open mode... even if you step away.

How did we ever live without it? QUESTION: Why would anyone spend $199.00 on a Trash Can ? ANSWER: Because if it's the Sensor Can, it's worth every penny of it! It solves one of life's little problems...going to your kitchen trash container with both hands full and no easy way to open the lid. True, it's only a little hassle, but it one that happens many times in any given day, and it occurs everyday...day after day. So, it's a bigger annoyance than you might think. Great Item This trash can is sturdy, doesn't slide around and can be operated hands free. It uses a nominal amount of space which is also helpful. February 22, 2012

Simple Human sensor can I purchased this can because I thought it may make life easier for my daughter who has extreme germ phobia. The can is a very good size and runs on batteries. There is also a place for a direct current adapter, however, it was not with the can (which was a floor model). The lid sticks on a constant basis, I resolved to taping a plastic knife on the can between the lid and can so that it no longer sticks. That has worked. Other than the sticking of the lid, I don't have any complaints. If you are considering this product, make sure you test drive it before you buy it--it is expensive even when discounted!
