Pretty but... I was really excited to get these jars to hold my husband's sugar and creamer to display on the counter, but after a short time of having them, we started to notice little shards of glass on our counter. Upon further inspection of the containers, we noticed that there are little pieces of glass coming off just above the metal ring. My husband has cut his hand on the glass and I have to check the counter daily to make sure there aren't any pieces that might fall to the floor and cut one of my girls. July 3, 2014
It is a jar These are good jars. I put candy in there. You have to make a pretty decent effort to break them. The clasp seems kind of iffy, though. I'm wondering how long they'll last. June 2, 2014
Love These Jars I purchased these glass jars online, hoping they would go well with some others that I already have. I needn't have worried. These glass storage jars are great for airtight storage of whatever...The bails are not hard to open and close and yet not loose either, (a problem with some other jars I've encountered). It would be nice to have the mouths a little larger but it's ok. I'm getting ready to purchase some of the smaller sizes for teas and and coffees! May 11, 2014
Great jars! This is exactly what I was looking for & at such an affordable price! Great packaging/shipping- all around excellent! May 10, 2014

Answer:
When converting from dry weight to liquid ounces, a 5 lb. bag of flour should fit inside a 130 ounce container or the 4.2 qt. Hermetic Storage Jar. A 5 lb. bag of sugar should fit inside an 80 ounce container making the 3.2 qt. Hermetic Storage Jar the best size.
