Stainless Steel Sink Strainer
great for sink
These work great in our sinks. We don't have a garbage disposal and these catch all the little bits. Would buy again, but they srem to last a long time.

Finally a solution
This strainer is heavy weight and seems to be a good quality stainless steel (I have only used it about a week or two but so far it is very good!). There is one problem. It tends to slide around and doesn't stay put but I solved this problem by cutting a circular ring the size of the outer ring on the strainer from rubberized non-slip shelf liner putting it between the sink rim and the strainer rim and it stays in place a lot better. Maybe a new design of this product could include a non-slide material on the underside of the rim? It is much easier to clean than some other things I have tried. So far I am well pleased as I have tried numerous things to prevent unwanted things getting into the garbage disposal.

Is it silly to gush over a strainer?
We moved and the worst thing about the new place was the plastic sink strainers - they got coated with gunk in just a day or so and were disgusting! So, simple solution, buy new stainless strainers, right. Well, we bought them all from every store, even the Chinese store we found while visiting Canada! Nothing was very effective or stayed clean. Until we found these - yay! No clogged sinks, strainers do the job, they stay clean, and are easy to clean. Life is better.

Simple, classic design and gets the job done!
I bought one of these stainless steel sink strainers to replace a cheaper one I'd bought at a local grocery store, with wire-like straining , which got discolored early on and was hard to clean.
This one from the Container Store works because it's easy to clean, looks great, and sits flush in the kitchen sink opening. A friend of mine saw it and wants me to pick up 2 for her the next time I'm in the Container Store. I'll also pick up one more for us and at least one for my stepmother.
It's a little pricey but compared to the other, more flimsy models on the market, well worth the price. And MUCH cheaper than having to call the plumber if food gets stuck in your drain!
