Stainless Steel Dish Drainer

The compact design of this drainer provides maximum drying area while occupying a minimum amount of space on your countertop. Made from rust-proof stainless steel, the rack has a space for glasses, stemware, and smaller pots. There's a rack that holds plates, bowls, and pans in a vertical position for rapid drying. A flatware caddy hangs off one side. The entire unit sits in a tray that collects water as it drains.

Piece of junk Yes, it looks stylish but is a poor design. There's no way for the water to drain out of the tray, so it just sits in there. The pan is lightweight and cheap and wouldn't sit flat on the counter due to warping, and rusted quickly. It doesn't hold many dishes, pots and pans were always falling out. I actually returned it to the Container Store and they graciously accepted it. Maybe they will discontinue it because it's not up to their usual level of quality. I purchased one from Simple Human with a lip to drain the water and a rack/holder for sharp knives. I love it. Go purchase that one instead! August 29, 2013
They Don't Make Them Like They Used To We've had this model for 13 years and it finally had one cross bar detach. Of course this wouldn't happen if the cross bar were soldered on top of the bars holding it instead of below. However, we felt that was a reasonable time to hold up. When we brought the new one home and felt it, it was obvious that it was much lighter than the one we were replacing. So we weighed the items on our postal scale. The new pan is flimsy & bends in your hand. It is 1/2 the weight of the old one. It does have 4 tiny feet molded into it so that if water gets below it should evaporate. The cutlery holder is 1/2 the weight of the old one & seems that the seam won't last very long. Oh, and the bars are still soldered below their supports. We still like the way it looks. July 22, 2013
I can't wait to find a good replacement This dishrack looks ok. It's not an eyesore if you are like me who has to keep a dishrack on my counter at all times. However, after some use it does start to rust, mine isn't terribly rusted, but the most irritating and disgusting thing about this is the fact that it collects water in the tray, and you can't just slide the tray to clean it. I have 2 kids and my husband at home. There is always something that needs to be washed or has just been washed. I don't ever put my kids bottle parts or cups on the lower level cause I'm afraid of them coming in contact with the little bit of rust, or worse the water that is in the tray. We clean it regularly, but it's a hassle cause obviously everything has to be dried and put away, and we have a double sink, and neither basin is big enough to hold the rack while we wash the tray. The tray also develops an unsightly (and I'm sure unhealthy) film on it almost overnight. I can't wait to find the right rack to get rid of this one. November 16, 2012
It does rust ! I've used this item for several years. While it's attractive compared to most others, mine began showing rust early on. But the worst part is that there is no lip on the tray for the water to drain into the sink - water just builds up and as it dries it forms a nasty looking white residue which is rather time consuming to clean. If this drainer really is stainless steel, it is of very poor quality stainless - and way too expensive. April 15, 2011
