Egg Stay Fresh Container 3.9 5 42 42
Feels durable. Lid a bit tight but secure. I purchased two of these to hold the eggs I get from a local farm. After reading the reviews, I decided I'd follow the one person's advice and paint over the labels rather than take them off and have goo left. The containers feel durable but not heavy duty. The lid is a bit tight, so you need to use both hands to take it off, but at least you know the eggs won't fall out. The holes seem big enough to house large eggs. I painted over the label and now I have a decorative top. I plan to hand wash them, as I don't know how the painted label will hold up in the dishwasher. I would think a white board label would work, too, to cover the top, if you want to be able to write on it. June 23, 2014
Smashed egg box Although this item appears strong, it arrived with the lid totally shattered, like a large rock had been dropped on it. It was well wrapped, and looked like it had been smashed even before being placed in the box for shipping. As I live many miles from the store, and don't want to pay more postage than the item is worth, I passed it on to someone who would use duct tape to make it usable. June 7, 2014
TIP ON GETTING FUSSY LABEL OFF I'm not sure how much I like this product as I just bought it today but agree with all the reviewers that this label was annoying to get off. I signed up here just to give my tip of how to get it off because it was annoying and though others could benefit from this and save some time. I tried peeling, then washing it off with soap but it left a sticky residue. For some reason I tried cooking oil (avocado oil but I'm sure any oil would work) and I just rubbed it on the sticky part then rinsed with water and it got rid came off. Surprisingly it looked as good as new once I wiped it down after washing all the oil off with soap. April 8, 2014
Not sure it was worth the effort yet I am sure this egg carton is going to work exactly as expected; however, it took me about an hour and half of work to get the label off. I soaked it in soap. I used Goo Gone. I put in the dishwasher. Seriously can't believe the effort it took to remove the sticker which is all the way across the entire top of the container. A bit overkill. Not sure I am going to enjoy this product for some time as it will take me months to get over the time I wasted. January 14, 2014
