Hermetic Glass Storage Jars 4.8 5 173 173
"Sealed the Meal" Bought a few hermetic glass storage jars from your Boca Raton store. It was great to know that I have a container that can travel from freezer to counter top sealing out air and moisture for dry, fresh and leftover foods--Don't like "soggy" mixes or guessing what it is that I've got--now I know because I can see it and handle it. Cereals, trail mix, pastas, etc. don't know if it's the idea of styling or old time pioneer nostalgia--I like it!!. Packaging for later use is a snap-..stay and put away. Picnics, tailgate parties,a family get together or box lunch it's THERE. Enjoy April 21, 2014
Solid pantry staple I really like these jars. The big sizes are suitable for snacks -- the opening is wide enough to grab pretzels and stuff, which is useful (don't have to pour it out messily). April 18, 2014
Exactly What I Needed! Great jar, seals tightly and the squared shape makes for easy storage. It has a wide mouth, great for scooping with a large spoon. So far I love this jar! April 18, 2014
Sweet and Preactical I looked for a sugar container all over, and the only cute I found were those rounded SS designer ones, which cost more than $60!!! really?!! I passed by TCS and saw this one, and I loved it, specially for that incredible price!! Now the little hyperactive ants won't have much party anymore! Lid is great, so easy to open and close, and save. April 17, 2014

What are the differences between the two lines of jars? Do both styles provide the same amount of protection and seal? Is jar type better at sealing certain types of goods? Thanking you in advance. Carla

Answer:
Both jars are made by the same vendor, and there is no difference in the quality. It is more of a difference in aesthetics. The French Hermetic Jars tend to be better for jellies, sauces, and any food items that require a spoon or fork for removal. The Hermetic Jars are better for liquids, soups, or finer particuled food-items since the mouth is smaller.

Answer:
When converting from dry weight to liquid ounces, a 5 lb. bag of flour should fit inside a 130 ounce container or the 4.2 qt. Hermetic Storage Jar. A 5 lb. bag of sugar should fit inside an 80 ounce container making the 3.2 qt. Hermetic Storage Jar the best size.
