Love these jars These jars are so great. I own a few of them and use them to store grains, pasta and beans. They have a great seal, look great on shelves and are cheap. Love them! April 17, 2014
Just Right I wanted a simple, utilitarian container that could be at home in different settings. This was just right. It is very heavy, feels solid. The top is wide enough enough to be used for a variety of snacks/items. April 17, 2014
Great jar for cereal We bought the jar to use for cereal and so far so good. It's huge and holds the whole box. April 16, 2014
Great Buy! I had been searching for a canister set for a while but couldn't settle on one color. These clear glass jars were the best option for me. I took some chalkboard paper and found a template online, cut out an adorable shaped label, and wrote the contents on each of the labels then glued them to the front of the jars. Now they look clean and adorable and the inner contents (sugar, coffee, tea) add natural color to my kitchen. I was fortunate to get these on sale and the quality is great! The metal wires are not loose like some other hermedic jars I've used and the rubber gaskets are tight while the jars are a nice, thick glass. All in all, a great buy for the money and you can get creative with them. April 16, 2014

What are the differences between the two lines of jars? Do both styles provide the same amount of protection and seal? Is jar type better at sealing certain types of goods? Thanking you in advance. Carla

Answer:
Both jars are made by the same vendor, and there is no difference in the quality. It is more of a difference in aesthetics. The French Hermetic Jars tend to be better for jellies, sauces, and any food items that require a spoon or fork for removal. The Hermetic Jars are better for liquids, soups, or finer particuled food-items since the mouth is smaller.

Answer:
When converting from dry weight to liquid ounces, a 5 lb. bag of flour should fit inside a 130 ounce container or the 4.2 qt. Hermetic Storage Jar. A 5 lb. bag of sugar should fit inside an 80 ounce container making the 3.2 qt. Hermetic Storage Jar the best size.
