Divided Keepers 4.6 5 16 16
Should have bought even more! I own 6 of these, and soon should buy even more. I only pack lunch for my 4-year old son twice a week but it always includes one of these. I reach for them whenever I pack lunch for a day-trip into the city, or a long car ride. The dividers come out so the keepers can be used dividerless or you can fit two or three dividers into the same one so the carrot sticks don't touch the celery sticks or the cucumber slices. The dividers aren't leakproof, though, so a really wet item (coleslaw) will slowly sog your sandwich. No biggie, but buy one of the cute smaller sizes for your 'slaw. The lids, however, don't leak, so they are great in a cooler, even if the ice is melting and the container is sitting in water. If you buy the largest divided keeper you can fit into it the smallest single keeper. Great for packing hummus with pita and carrot sticks. I need to buy more of these for this summer because I just use them way to much. March 4, 2010
Flimsy Divider I like the idea of this and have been using it frequently, but the fact that the divider can be removed is a pro and a con. It allows you to adjust the size of each side to your contents, but it does not prevent leakage from one side to the other. It worked OK with hummus on one side and veggies on the other, but when I had watermelon and blueberries in it, the blueberries all had watermelon juice on them. Not the end of the world, but made me realize the product's limitations. August 16, 2010
Perfect!! Amazing!! These things are PERFECT for my 3 kiddos' lunches. The plastic is thick & sturdy with just enough flexibility that they seem like they will stand up to a lot of repeat use. The lids fit flawlessly & are easy for my children to take off & put back on -- AND the lids stay sealed tightly even with typical kiddo lunch bag abuse. I use them in conjunction with the 4 oz. Small Food Keeper (same product line) and between the movable divider and the 4 oz. container (which can also easily fit INSIDE the Divided Keeper!) I am able to configure them in a multitude of arrangements AND have a leak-proof compartment within compartment. It is so nice to finally be able to QUICKLY & EASILY assemble school lunches and keep everything separate as needed -- my kiddos love taking some crackers, lunch meat & cheese slices cut into fourths, some fresh fruit, and a small treat for dessert -- however it used to be such a pain either having a bunch of separate containers or wrapping things in plastic wrap or foil to make sure the strawberries didn't stain the turkey red or make the crackers soggy, for example. Plus these little containers hold a lot! (or at least plenty for what my kids typically eat at school) -- I can fit 2 slices of lunch meat & 1-2 slices of cheese (cut into fourths -- which I put side-by-side in the 4 oz. keeper), 2-3 strawberries and a small handful of grapes (which I tuck in alongside the 4 oz. keeper on one half of the Divided Keeper), about 8 crackers, AND a small handful of Nutter Butter Bites. Yet it is such a slim profile!! They take up minimal space in my cabinets when not in use, and I can neatly & easily stack half a dozen of them in a small section of my fridge and have 2 days' worth of lunches for 3 kiddos on standby without sacrificing very much space in my rather small refrigerator. (I actually purchased a wire mesh pantry organizer basket from Container Store for $17.99 and it is the perfect size to store our 6 Divided Keepers in the fridge lined up vertically and the kiddos' water bottles right beside.) I used my label maker to label each kids' name on two of the containers -- now they just have to grab one box which has ALL of their food in it, water bottle, and ice pack & they are on their way... and I can make lunches every other night now instead of every night. I never thought I'd be this excited about food containers, but as a single full-time working mama of a 9-year-old and a pair of 8-year-old twins, these products have made one area of my life that was a constant uphill battle practically a breeze! I feel the urge to tell everyone I know about these containers!! lol October 15, 2013
Great Addition to School Lunches! We made several purchases recently to use for our two boys' lunches. I was tired of packing so many different little containers, and I don't like disposable zip lock bags because it's not good for the environment. So I went in search of some containers that could be used to separate a couple foods within one container. We purchased the divided keeper and my kids LOVE it! It fits perfectly in their lunch boxes and allows me to pack a few things within one container without having to worry about wasting plastic bags. I highly recommend it! March 29, 2010
