bobbleâ¿¢ Water Bottle by Karim Rashid
"Green" water bottle is stingy on its squirts
Pros: way cool, curvy design; a great "green" idea which will cut down on bottled water purchases and will pay for itself after only 6 or 7 uses, if you're paying airport prices for bottled water.
Cons: plastic bottle is stiff, so it's hard to get the water out; needs to be bigger than 18.5 oz.
This is a great item for traveling. The filter removes the chlorinated taste of tap and fountain water quite well and is stated to last for 40 gallons, which is a lot of filtered water.
Many plastic bottles can be made to varying degrees of flexibility and squeeze-ability. This bottle, while sturdy and durable, is simply hard to squeeze, so you can't take a long draught of water. Sucking on the closable nipple-lid doesn't help. This bottle is a point-and-squeeze proposition and you'll most likely have to point-and-squeeze several times. Oh well...nothing's perfect.
As far as the noise issue in the previous review: I doubt anyone on a plane-or anywhere there is some ambient noise-is going to reprimand you for using it. We're not talking about a problem as big as loud public cell phone conversations. However, don't take it to the symphony or a play.
Watching the air bubbles enter the water bottle with your eyes crossed while you're drinking is...well...a different experience which left me dizzy and wanting more.
I bought two.

nice water bottle
this is a great water bottle if it really does what it says! I am excited to be able to use tap water and have my bottle clean it for me! Wish it came larger as well!

Great idea, but not the easiest to drink from
Love the concept, design and size of the bottle, but it's not the easiest to drink from. Plastic is stiff so you have to squeeze a few times (though I wonder if it'll become less stiff over time). The pull-top cap slides easily which you would think is a good thing but because it slides so easily, it tends to slide shut while you are drinking!
Buy it if you feel like splurging, you like eco-designs, or if you want to make a green statement; otherwise I'd say a Brita pitcher and a regular eco-water bottle work equally well.

I Love It!
I have had my bobble for a couple of months now and I absolutly love it. I use it at work mostly because it is a very old building (including all the pipes). There used to be a metalic taste to the water but the bobble filter has gotten rid of it. It tastes as good if not better than store bought bottled water. I love this product and have already recommended it to several friends.
