Le Parfait French Hermetic Glass Terrines

Our traditional Le Parfait French Glass Terrines have airtight bail-and-seal closures to hermetically seal out air and moisture. The straight-sided design of the terrine allows contents to slide right out, making them perfect for no-mess freezing. Terrines are also great as gift containers for homemade delicacies.

Wonderful Terrines! My husband purchased this product to store our Keurig K-cups in. It definitely keeps our coffee fresh and the kitchen coffee-smell free. Great Buy! February 15, 2013
Just what I was looking for! Love these jars! I decided to recycle all my plastic and switch to glass. After hours of internet searching The Container Store won the bid. I bought 4 different sizes, 25oz, 12oz, 7oz and 4.4oz and found that the 12oz is, by far, the most useful and will definitely be purchasing more! The first thing I did when I got them, was drop one right into my stainless steel sink, and not a chip or crack! The seal is tight as well. No more having to go through each container in my fridge to see what's in there or worrying about BPA's leaching into my food! And I've cleared out a whole cabinet of plastic! The Container Store shipped in a timely manner and they were carefully packaged. Their customer service is prompt and professional. I've found a new place to play! June 8, 2012
Perfect for Homemade Gifts This weekend I had a pancake party, and as parting gifts I gave away homemade pancake mix and used these containers. They have great latches and I'm confident they will keep the mix fresh until my guests decide to use it. My guests were thankful for the mix, but more excited to be able to reuse the canister. I'm thinking of buying a couple extras for myself! The glass is thick and sturdy, they don't feel fragile at all. I wouldn't try it, but I think if you accidentally dropped this from a short distance, they wouldn't break. Great product! The only thing I didn't like is that since they are straight-sided (not completely round), the latches are not always centered on the same side. Not a huge deal, but I'm a little picky when it comes to presentation. May 17, 2010
These Terrines are amazing They are pricey, but they should last for many years, and probably decades. We store about 20+ different products in them - coffee beans, ground coffee, wheat bran, wheat germ, malted milk powder, cheese powder, baking powder, baking soda, and more. I love the wide top for measuring and the air-tight seal. The advantage of these over the other hermetic jars at the Container Store is that these are stackable and have the wide top. The stackability makes them so much better. We still use the other large ones for rice and pasta, but the French Terrines for everything else. December 16, 2011

Answer:
Canning, preserves, jam, pickles, etc. is precisely what Le Parfait jars were made for. They can be sterilized in hot water using a sterilizer, a pressure cooker or oven. You can check leparfait dot com website were you will find all the necessary info and instructions (tutorial videos available).
Hope that helps.

We do not recommend this product for canning, and we also do not recommend placing this product into boiling water. You may want to look into our Quattro products for your future project as it is designed for canning.
