Isola Wastebasket by Guzzini®

Guzzini uses only first quality, virgin plastic - they don't even use the reground plastic from their own seconds! This ensures the perfection of clarity for which Guzzini is famous. The Italian flair for design is evident in every piece made. Often, the name of the designer is shown on the products packaging - the designer is that important. Design at Guzzini doesn't take place in a vacuum where form overrides function; aesthetics and function go hand-in-hand to create objects of rare beauty and unsurpassed practicality.

Americans tend to think of plastic as an inexpensive, unglamorous material, best employed in the manufacture of cheap, disposable goods. Europeans, however, have a much higher opinion of plastic: they regard it as a medium of artistic expression. This sensibility has led them to use plastic in the production of everything from furniture to clothing. And no one produces a better acrylic plastic product than Guzzini.
Founded over a century ago by the Fratelli Guzzini (Guzzini Brothers), the company has grown steadily and carefully. The production facility in Recanati, Italy is itself a model of modern design: clean, light, mechanized, and computerized. Cutting edge technology (often developed by Guzzini) has not resulted in displaced workers either. As jobs are eliminated by modernization, workers whose skills have become obsolete are retrained. Bottom-line considerations encouraging modernization are balanced with dedication to the extended Guzzini "family".
