Driftwood & Platinum elfa Component Desk 4.4 5 9 9

Nice workspace, couple of issues I ordered the Driftwood and Platinum Elfa desk for my 12 year old son so he would have a large and, I hope, clear workspace as he starts 7th grade this year. The desk is large enough to be functional yet blends nicely into the room without looking heavy or chunky. The desk did not include any assembly instructions. It is not difficult to put together but it would have been helpful to know that I should have put in the drawer stop pins for the top drawer before hammering in the top rails. I hammered the whole drawer unit together before even finding the drawer stop pins and once those rails are hammered in, there is no way to put in the pins for the top drawer. I couldn't get the rails back out so I taped the pins in from underneath. I vaguely remember this problem from putting together Elfa closet components too. It wouldn't have been too hard to include something listing the best order for the assembly steps. My other complaint is that the desk top does not actually attach to the drawer side; the desk legs are screwed on but it just sits on top of the drawer unit and it doesn't stay put very well. I'm not really worried about it falling off but it is sort of ridiculous that it doesn't attach *at all*. I may try putting something sticky or a small piece of foam where the desk top meets the drawer unit to increase the friction and, I hope, reduce the sliding around. Finally, if you buy this desk, get the insert for the top drawer so there is a way to organize smaller items. The desk isn't perfect but the problems are minor and the price was right. I do appreciate the clean and simple design that does not overwhelm a room. August 18, 2010

Fantastic Desk My wife and I just purchased 2 desks for our office and are extremely pleased. Not only do the desks look great but they are extremely functional. We also purchased printer stands with drawers which also look great. I highly recommend also getting the plastic drawer organizers since the drawers are so big. The desk wasn't difficult to assemble, but it wouldn't been easier if the desk top included pre-drilled holes for the legs. March 31, 2013

NICE DESK Nice durable desk. Nice looking, somewhat modern. Storage drawers function well, holds alot. Nice size- not too big, functions well in a smaller space. Top slides out of position from time to time- not a big deal. Would recommend to others. February 17, 2013
