Another great solution
Bought the freestanding for a laundry room in the basement. The wall is a thin plywood and not exactly flat. Added the wide drawer stack on casters, hooks, and valet rod. I use the valet rod to button shirts before hanging on the closet rod, and the hooks come in handy for air drying machine washed ball caps. I have a melamine shelf for those times I need a working surface, and the drawer stack can be either moved out of the way or as an additional surface. The ventilated shelves work for storing throw rugs, the dog's laundry, anything. The flexibility to rearrange shelving or even move the entire unit(s) makes this well worth its price.

not a deal breaker, but...
Works as advertised, to be sure, but these parts were clearly used.

Perfect in the Pantry
We put these together in a new pantry closet and they are just great. We were able to utilize every inch of space and keep this visible and orangized and easy to reach. On some of the shelves I put some plexi glass sheets so smaller things wouldn't fall through. They are sturdy and I can get a duster underneath when I'm in the mood to deep clean :)

Elfa Freestanding Components
If you are a fan of Elfa Shelving but relocate a lot like I have to do for work OR you want this for an apartment or a dorm function, Freestanding components are for you!
I love that I no longer have to deal with fixing the rather large size holes the drywall anchors require (apartments almost always have metal studs now, so you cannot hang shelving in studs) and that I can take this down and set it up in new configurations to best fit my newest space.
Expensive when compared to the wall hanging system, so I wait to buy components during sale, but otherwise these are a super solution!
