White elfa freestanding Stabilization Kit
4 of 5 units defective
That's 80%, for anybody that cares about that sort of thing.
I ordered components for a stand alone bookcase, and four of the five stabilizing kits arrived bent. Not a little Matchbox 20 bent... Completely unusable bent. The bends may look small, but they are truly unusable. Go ahead, try using plyers to get them properly re shaped - but it's a true pain (and not very effective).
Silver lining? I'm learning to love the "decorative" components lying all over our house while we wait to get our hands on some components in decent shape. Let's just call it some modern flair.

A couple of years ago I had an Elfa Shelf System installed on a wall in the basement. My situation has changed, and I wanted to move the system upstairs into a spare bedroom, but I wanted to go with freestanding system (I didnâ¿¿t want to deal with the plaster walls of this old house). I was able to use three 83â¿ freestanding uprights, three 17â¿ freestanding feet and two 2â¿¿ stabilization kits to accomplish my goal--and I was able to do it by myself in about an hour. I was enormously pleased!

love elfa freesanding
I purchased an elfa freestanding system for my craft supplies since I only had space in front of windows. It works beautifully and now after using it for awhile I know that it is not going to tip no matter how much weight I have in the drawers. Also I was able to put it together myself without any help from my husband - just remember to start putting the shelves/drawers in from the bottom up. Love the clean look!

We have tons of Elfa throughout our house (and garage), but have never tried the free-standing components. After researching numerous solutions for a very specific size credenza behind my home-office desk, I discovered that Elfa free-standing components were the perfect answer! Easy to assemble, and very solid.
