White elfa freestanding Uprights
What Freestanding ELFA can do for YOU
My husband and I like home renovation projects, and to that end bought a 1930's, 1,000 square foot frame house to RENO and Enlarge to meet our family's needs.
What does a home of this age NOT have? CLOSETS! After a few years of making due with antique wardrobes we searched for a new and better option.
ELFA to the rescue!
As we added on, moved walls and created space in our old/new house, Freestanding ELFA was at our side, shifting from room to room and reconfiguring as our needs dictated. We have nearly finished our final projects and our ELFA systems have spread to the laundry room, master closet, sewing/craft room, and inside the doors as well. We have also gifted ELFA fixed wall systems to the closets in our daughter's home!
Thanks for engineering a product that is practical, well made, and looks great too.

A couple of years ago I had an Elfa Shelf System installed on a wall in the basement. My situation has changed, and I wanted to move the system upstairs into a spare bedroom, but I wanted to go with freestanding system (I didnâ¿¿t want to deal with the plaster walls of this old house). I was able to use three 83â¿ freestanding uprights, three 17â¿ freestanding feet and two 2â¿¿ stabilization kits to accomplish my goal--and I was able to do it by myself in about an hour. I was enormously pleased!

This is great!
I needed some "extra" countertop space for holding an Excalibur dehydrator. I purchased the free-standing uprights and the other components because I couldn't think of any other way to solve my problem. (And the 3 cu. ft. freezer I was going to order was out of stock on Amazon.)
If I had my "druthers", though, I'd make a size that would fit easily under a countertop. Or countertop height. The 41" height is a tad too tall and is getting in the way of easily opening a window in my laundry room. (I have to stretch to reach around the shelf unit.) I'm considering taking the uprights to a metal-working place to see if they can be cut down to a more workable height.
Other than that, I love the fact that I can easily move it! It was relatively easy to put together (once I viewed the online video of how to attach the cross-braces).

LOVE My elfa free standing
I love my freestanding elfa system, I am an artist and a student which requires me to be organized in a tiny apartment with a lot of art supplies and materials. As soon as i was able to i started saving and invested in my organization and it's changed my life.
This product is sturdy and easy to assemble. In a few short hours i had all my art supplies organized where I can see them and up off the floor where they had been previously, which gave me room to move, think and create!
I love what i have so far and I intend to keep buying parts and expand as i can afford it ^__^
p.s. I assembled it all by myself with very little trouble, and look forward to the ease of moving with this product ^_^
