Very versatile and functional We use these on most closet and on some passage doors, including one that is slightly thicker than the advertised 1 3/4" max. Finding the sweet spot on a door top to allow it to close easily requires trial and error. Each hook easily handles either one heavy item, like a (guest) coat on a hanger, or a couple of lighter ones--eg, fleece toppers on slim hangers. On our thinnest doors, we have inserted a wad of cardboard between the hook and door to keep hook from falling off when hanger is removed. We have found the damage to doors from these hooks to range from zero to minimal. May 6, 2013

Amazing commercial door hooks! These work wonders to convert regular over the door shoe racks to fit larger commercial-sized doors. These things saved me from having to completely rethink how to store my shoes when the original hooks didn't fit my doors. They're also much sturdier than the hooks that typically come with the over the door shoe racks. As a bonus, the doors also actually close with the racks on. Love these! February 27, 2013
