Great for THREAD These individual drawers are a smidge over 3 inches in height, perfect for spools of thread. I have (hundreds of spools of thread because I machine embroider) and these drawers fit my stash great. I actually bought 2 of these chests, and the top of one of the chests came off fairly easily so I could stack one set of six drawers on top of the other set of six drawers. It would be fairly easy to remove one or two levels and just make it 9 or 10 drawers in my stack. So its easy to Customize for your purposes. The top of the set of drawers is partitioned so it can hold some other tools. I like the lids on the drawers but have sliced a couple drawers' lids off with an Xacto knife for a couple to make quick identification and access easier. Not sure if I will regret taking the lid off yet. I left the lids on the bottom drawers for storing Stabilizer for the embroidery, the 12" rolls of stabilizer fit perfectly and having it nearly air-tight is perfect for storing the Wash Away stabilizer, which has to be kept free of moisture. The entire thing rolls easily on wheels. However it is polypropylene or plastic so if it got too heavy the weight would cause the wheel bearings to loosen. May 14, 2013

Not thrilled Although I'd like to love this product, I can't say that I do. The whole product is plastic, so it tends to bend, and I don't trust that it's sturdy. The drawers don't slide easily, and you need to slide them open COMPLETELY in order to lift the drawer's lid and access the contents inside. I would recommend this product for someone with flat items like paper, but it's not perfect. April 30, 2013

Crafts I use this to store paper. It will hold the 12x12. You can pack the drawers full and it is stable with a lot weight in it. I love mine. I wondered if it would be sturdy enough but it is and it blends with the rest of the room just fine. You can stack these if you want, but I have not tried it. Had I the room to to that, I would have. The best part is those containers pull out and open up. They are the regular paper storage containes for craft paper. I just love that. April 26, 2013
