Nice soft bin for toy storage
I needed something to hide toy clutter. These are easy for my child to pull off the shelf, and the dimensions of the small size fit perfectly in my CB2 media console. The color is not as brown as I thought it would be. Note in the photo how it is very different from my brown rug but much closer in shade to the dark gray console.

Exactly what I wanted
We have two of the smaller size for shoes, and two of the larger size for toys. They are the perfect mix of attractiveness and practicality. They seem sturdy, and we have had the shoe bins for months with no apparent wear. They hold their shape once they are about half full. I cannot notice a smell, as mentioned by others, unless I put my nose directly on the bins (smells mildly like dried grass or some organic scent). I love these bins!

Sturdy and classic
These bins look great. I bought two to keep at the bottom of our stairs so the kids could transport things up and down with ease. I didn't want wicker or wood baskets that could eventually scratch the wood on the stairs. So I chose these since they appear soft yet easy to carry for little ones. They are. My only issue is that because of the way they're folded when shipped they will not stay standing up at all as shown in the photo. I had assumed they had supports on the sides to help keep the sides up bit they don't. They only have a flat bottom piece. I ended up ironing them on a steam setting to get any creases out of the sides and kind of reversing any bends. This helped. Now they stand up. But the sides are not firm. I'm fine with this. But it should be noted. They look great and function the way I want them to.

Grommets failed after several months of use
I bought 2 of these, originally so that my son could keep his smaller school items neatly in one place in one corner. Then I decided to use them to carry them back and forth to assisted living take to items to and from my loved one's room and sometimes to ballet costume fittings with ballet costumes and a few sewing supplies. I did not ever overload these with heavy items. Nevertheless, the rope handles failed when the some of the grommets came out; this happened to both bins on separate occasions. However, the Container Store has some other bins that fold up and have stood the test of use and time with the same type of use, the rhombus storage totes, which I do recommend and to which I would give 5 stars.
I do agree with those who say that the sides do not stay up unless they are full.
