InterMetro® Kitchen Shelves
Kitchen uncluttered, part 2
After I bought the 24" tower version of the InterMetro shelving, the more I looked at it, the more I looked on the opposite side of the kitchen, where sat a sort of lumpy wooden microwave cart that also held on its wings my blender, ice cream maker, stand mixer, fire extinguisher, and contractor-sized propane torch. The cart took up four feet of horizontal space, had very limited and nearly useless storage space behind two doors, and offered only awkward access to all but the microwave.
I decided it was time for action. The before and after pictures tell the story. Now I have easy access to all these items, I can use all the appliances and the kitchen scale without having to fetch, rearrange, or climb over things, I finally have a place to put the breadbox I bought ten years ago, and I no longer have to hire small children to retrieve bakeware from the back of that blasted under-counter corner cabinet with the double-jointed door.

Wonderful for small kitchens!
We have a teeny kitchen with an awkward layout and almost NO counterspace. It's been a frustration since we moved in, and we finally found the solution with the InterMetro kitchen shelving system. It is a dream come true for all my storage nightmares! I've been able to pull out lesser-used but larger items from storage, like my mixing bowl, breadmaker, and crockpot. And it's strong enough we were able to relocate our microwave to one of its shelves! I haven't even figured out what to do yet with all my extra counter space, LOL! But in the meantime, I'm loving this space-saving addition to our kitchen!

Need two people to stack the first shelf, afterward it can be a one person job. The shelves are very sturdy and definitely help make room in my cabinets and on my counters. I use it for appliances, pots/pans, baking trays, cutting boards, salad spinner, etc. I always hated storing these things in the bottom cabinets because you have to bend over and remove items before getting the pot/pan/appliance you want. Now I can get them out with ease and no more bending at the waist.
Make sure you get the shelf liners, they're sold separately, so you won't have to worry about anything falling or tilting while on the shelves.

After comparing shelving options on other sites, we decided to go with InterMetro based on the reviews. We're happy we paid a small amount more and received an excellent value for our $$. The assembly is hassle free, the shelves are sturdy and the look is clean. We set up this unit in our laundry room to hold kitchen appliances (i.e. food processor, mixer, juicer, etc.). It looks super and frees up so much room in our kitchen cabinets. We also purchased the shelf liners and rubber pads. I expect this to last for decades. Loving it!
