Overview

Product Information

Our SLA Spray is a smart way to prevent damage to your clothing by pests such as carpet beetles and moths - simply spray your clothing and your closet thoroughly before storing. This insecticide (pyrethrins and perethrin) kills most moths, beetles, wasps and other bugs instantly. SLA Spray is also a smart option for protecting items like rugs, draperies and upholstery from these harmful pests. It will not stain and is easily dispensed from an aerosol can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Surprisingly Amazing Spray Store personnel strongly advised me to buy this spray and the Moth prevent packets, and how to clean my closet, laundry all clothing - and exactly where and how to spray throughout the closets and bedrooms in our home. We usually avoid pesticides, and I was very hesitant, and equally pleased with this product not being over-powering, and actually freshening the rooms. We were able to spray and then leave our home for a full week undisturbed, and when we returned there was no trace of moths whatsoever. May 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasant smelling moth killer Herbal sachets have not stopped moths from invading my home. Unable to open windows in the winter, I have been searching for a solution to use inside the house that won't make me sick. SLA has a pleasant fragrance & seems to be working. I am also using sachets (same brand) to safeguard sweaters that may have been exposed to larvae. March 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Stuff This spray kills just about any pest on contact. Had a nasty moth problem and once I sprayed this stuff, I started finding dead ones all over the place the next day. Eeeewwwww...but they are gone! August 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Moths Beware! We've had an issue with moths attacking our wool items, including our expensive wool area rugs. We tried a number of treatments that were supposed to be fool proof. Sadly, this was not the case. I found the SLA spray at the Container Store and decided to try it. I'm happy to report that the SLA spray has done a fantastic job eliminating the moths. I couldn't be more thrilled and relieved. It's easy to use and I love being able to apply it directly. April 13, 2013

The repeated steps of use are listed below:

Step 1 - Launder or air (for several hours in sunlight) the infected articles
Step 2 - Lightly spray SLA® at least 3 feet from clothing
Step 3 - Store clean and treated garments

You do not need to wash the article of clothing prior to wearing it.

I cannot see the picture well enough to see whether there is a "flammable" warning, though I am assuming that it is flammable since non-flammable aerosols are rare...

I've recently discovered moths in my apartment and want to get rid of them quickly! Would I have to remove my cat before using this product? How long should pets be kept away from the treated area?

Answer:
Hello and thank you for contacting Willert Home Products. SLA is for the treatment of open areas like couches, chairs, carpets, drapes, etc. When used as directed on the product label, SLA is not harmful to cats, however cats lack the ability to metabolize SLA ingredients when they come into contact with it through their skin or when they lick it off of their fur while grooming. Be sure to remove your cat from the area that is being treated and you can let her back into the area after the spray has dried. We recommend keeping your cat away from treated areas for 24 hours. Are you sure you have clothing moths? Moths typically do not fly around, they hide out in closets or other undisturbed areas, usually the closet. Have you discovered any clothing or furnishings with moth holes? Please contact us again if you have additional questions or comments. Thank you.

does this work on the moth larvae

I have heard that the product does not work on the larvae That is why repeat applications are necessary. Please explain. I have a big problem on a wool rug.

Also, i see large moths and also very small moths. Are the small moths ( that are also near the large ones) simply small less developed of the same type of moths? I see them sometimes flying around the room.

After vacuuming the rug treat once a month for the first three months and then once a quarter for the next year to insure the infestation is under control. Re-application is necessary due to possible re-infestation, not because SLA Spray is ineffective.
