I used these bottles for my facial serum and my saline. I had some concern based on reviews that the cap didn't stay on, but I had no problems at all. I had them in my carry on, but they didn't leak at all. Love these!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by AlexInSox Not A *Squeeze* Bottle. Only Dispenses *Drops*
I bought the NALGENE LEAKPROOF DROPPER BOTTLE to store my contact lens solution in it to take on my carry-on bag.
The bottle has a dropper tip so it only dispenses the liquid inside in drops, no matter how hard you squeeze, so if you're looking for a squeeze bottle for lotion or some other liquid this won't work.
I was still able to use it to rinse my contact lenses off and also to store them in their case, it just takes about 40-50 seconds longer per lens to do so.
This bottle was in my liquid pouch, which was stored in my backpack/carry-on and then stored in the overhead bin and it didn't leak (but the plane ride was just a little over an hour so maybe longer distances might effect it).
Although it takes a tad longer to use this bottle it's still better than buying contact lens solution to carry-on the plane because most so called travel size disinfecting solutions are in 4-oz bottles even though they have a picture of plane on the box.
I'll use this the next time I fly as well.

I've been searching for a small container to use to take my face lotion with me when I travel. This bottle is perfect...didn't leak and was easy to fill.

Was perfect to hold some oil while on travel - no leaks and contents dripped perfectly.

I accidentally found this prior to checking in my luggage and I just threw it into a very full suitcase. I was worried, but so relieved to find that it survived! Will be buying more.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Susan1982 Great for saline solution
I take saline solution everywhere since I wear contacts. I fill the 2 oz bottle with my solution and use a screw top for the travel. Once I arrive at my destination, I replace the screw top with the dropper top. This is so much more economical than buying the overpriced "travel size" solutions at the store. Thanks Container Store!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by WEEJ Perfect for travel!
I've purchased many of these in the past and will continue to do so in the future. I love that these are completely leakproof and that I can rely on them to not spill during travel.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bele AfterShave doesn't leak on plane
After trying many many types of containers to hold my husband's after shave lotion for air travel - and they all leaked - imagine our delight to discover that this one did not leak! He has been using it for over a year now with no leaks at all! A small funnel is great for filling it from his regular bottle. No more wrapping and sealing containers in multiple layers of zip-bags to protect his clothing!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by CriticalShopper Not useful for thick liquids
I used these to bring my own agave nectar and pure maple syrup on a trip so I would have some unrefined, low glycemic sweeteners for coffee & oatmeal. Fortunately, I packed them in a separate ziplock bag, because the dropper cap does not stay on tight, so contents leaked out. In addition, I was not able to squeeze out either the agave or syrup; the dropper opening is just too small. I had to unscrew the lid and pour them instead.
I'm going to try the flip-top bottles next time.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by JaneM Not really leakproof
In this case, leakproof means that you can snap the top in place and turn the bottle upside down without worrying about leaks. It does NOT mean the top will not come off the tip.
For travel purposes, the only way you could ensure they wouldn't leak would be to pack them in a way they won't shift and nothing will rub against the cap. If I were to travel with them, I'd buy a few of the matching bottles with screw-on lids and pack the dropper tip separately to be used when I arrived.
Staying at home, the dropper releases the contents at a constant rate, the bottles are easy to store, easy to clean and don't retain odors from the contents. They were a good purchase for my purposes but they are overpriced for HDPE plastic bottles (even if they do have the brand name Nalgene.)

I use these in my kitchen when I'm working with Candy Melts. They have not leaked and have held up well in the microwave.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by faye I have not used this item for air travel, however, I have used it at home and for carrying a small amount of oil for my cuticles in my handbag. I keep it in a small plastic makeup pouch that keeps it upright to prevent leakage. The top is definitely not to be trusted, but I have still found it useful.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by vb4heath keeps popping open
I bought one of these to test it out as I am in search of the perfect travel bottles. This one failed the test that most of them do, the top popped open while in the plane and spilled all over my toiletry bag. Still in search of one that does not spill.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Calisson Don't take these in an airplane!
The stopper does not stay on, and so they leak in travel. Worthless! A shame, because I haven't seen any 1/2 oz. containers elsewhere.
