Black Storage Locker with Wheels
Older ones better built
See the attached picture which shows an older model Contico box and the newer one I just purchased. The old model has a handle and the lid clasps are held in place firmly by two rivets. I have had the older box for over five years and it has survived multiple scout camps as well as other uses.
The new box has no handle and the lid clasp is held by a pressure fit. Both clasps fell off after one single flight. One clasp I was able to recover and push back into the groove in the plastic of the body of the box.
Its rather clear that the new box is by far inferior in quality to the older one. The older box survived the flight like a trooper, the other one is fit for the trash.

Great for Storage NOT for Transport
These trunks are very well made to just put things in and place stuff in your attic / garage and can hold up to 70 pounds without a problem. The problem is if you use them like I do (e.g. checked baggage) to transport things on airplanes while the trunk itself holds up acceptably the wheels ALWAYS break. Obviously if you've got 70 pounds of stuff in them you don't want to carry that so the wheels should really be reinforced to not break the first time that they're used.
These trunks also used to have an external handle to put luggage / name tags on which are not gone. If they increased the cost of these by ~ $10 - $15 and put usable secure wheels on them they'd be great.

Great Trunk for Camp!
After having a suitcase ruined by one of my kids @ camp, I knew I needed to find another solution. Came across these last spring and realized I found a winner! Each of my three kids has their own - and these trunks have survived both traditional summer camps and sports-specific camps. They store a ton, but you definitely need some sort of internal organizing. (I prefer to use packing cubes.)
These wear well, clean easily, and as my kids would like you to know - are fun to decorate. My daughter's is completely plastered in decorative duct tape, my sons' are adorned with travel stickers from all the places they have been with the trunk.
My only complaint, and the only reason for deducting a star (I'd have taken only a half, if I could have) is that the fingertip grip on the end opposite the wheels isn't quite enough to be able to wheel the trunk well. If a grab handle, like the one on the front of the trunk, were on the end, it would make it much easier to maneuver. Otherwise, this trunk serves it's purpose in our family perfectly.

This item is great because I work with kids and they like to help me set up for our craft time, and they do not have to pick it up they can roll it. I believe I have made a great purchase. It holds all the yarn I need for the crafts we do.
